With Jones likely leaving as a FA there is no reason to Cut driver, even if we draft 2 solid rookie WR's, I would cut Swain before driver. Unless he really looks like he's lost it in training camp(if there is one).

Unless someone really great falls to #32, I dont see GB taking a WR with the first pick. I do however think it is very likely they take a WR with the 2-4 pick. I see #32 going to OLine, Dline, or OLB.

You're right, I actually wanted to include that in there, but forgot. If Jones leaves, we're going to draft another WR somewhere in the draft, regardless. If Baldwin drops, it might as well be him.

With a little time and effort, any number of people on this site could've written a better article than this one. There were several questionable statements and one outright howler--the one about how the Packers were better off without Finley because they "discovered" Andrew Quarless. Where did THAT come from? Did these people watch a single game this year, or even a look at a box score?

Also, I don't see why either Jones or Nelson couldn't step in as a #2 receiver at this point, especially considering that each of them basically played that role, and played it well, in several games this year when Driver was injured or the game plan favored their matchups. I think Ryan Pickett was better than "ordinary" and I don't think Woodson will be demoted to safety just yet. Also, I don't think Bulaga performed better than expected last year, considering that he was a first round draft pick who was expected to be NFL ready as a rookie.

Other than that, the article was, well, not too bad.

After reading Greg C.'s first sentence it's apparent he's never read the articles I attempted to ink. 😉

Much of our strength is having the other teams 4th corner trying to cover Jordy or JJ. If you put Swain in there, there isn't as much of a mismatch. Yes, Finley helps but I really like having such a deep corps of receivers. I'd like Jones back or a receiver in the first few rounds.

You guys forget that Quarles got a lot of PT this year and we are going to have a pretty nasty double tight end set next year. I'm all for grabbing Baldwin should he fall because he gives us that jump ball receiver we haven't had since Walker; but a receiver is a luxury pick this year.

I'm already counting Jones as gone, so he's out of the equation, which leaves us with Jennings, Jones, and how long is Driver effective? We have a lot of money tied up in Jennings, and I don't see Jones getting what he will want for a contract.

I think Thompson feels o.k. with losing Jones because Finley will be back.
The only thing I discovered about Quarless from last year was that he's no Finley.

McCarthy was moving Finley all over the place pre-snap and the good news is whatever teams THINK they now know about our offense will change with him back in the line-up.

No team gets everything they want but I will take this coming season with Finley in and Jones out vs. this year when it was the other way around last year. I see us much more dangerous and definately more effective in the redzone.

I do see a WR in the draft but this is one area where Ted shines. I think he will grab one in order to backup the possiblity of Driver going down as much as the loss of Jones.

To be fair, Quarless looked better as a rookie than Finley did. Maybe that doesn't mean anything, but that can't be overlooked.

QB: Aaron Rodgers was the Super Bowl MVP, one of the best quarterbacks in the business and is entering his fourth season as a starter.

One of the best? Can I slap this writer across the head?

Agreed that we'll be drafting another WR. I've already said that before elsewhere. Driver's getting old and no guarantee Jones will be back. That leaves us with Jennings, Jordy, and Swain. Plus anyone remember 2005? You can never have too much depth at any position. I thought 2005 showed us that. That's something Ted believes in.

OL - We're drafting an OT. This isn't a "may." It's a "we will."
