Honestly I like that the worse team picks first and the best team picks last. It's a part of trying to get all the teams on a more level playing field to make games more interesting.

Plus some of those bad teams are great at picking the players that will bust and getting them off the boards so the Packers don't take them...

I don't like the lottery idea for the NFL.

The thing I don't like is that if tied up a higher strength of schedule with help your changes of both getting into the playoffs and getting a higher draft pick. I think the lower strength of schedule should get the better draft pick, because they played worst teams and couldn't win more games....

Think of 32 as the first pick in round 2.

Think of 64 as the first pick of round 3. and so on.

Just think of the Packers not having a first round pick but a great pick in every round after that.

Plus we'll have the best pick in round 8 that way.

Good point. Absent a trade, the Packers get Mr. Irrelevant this year.

I don't believe we do because of the compensatory picks. I'm not positive how that works. I know we've had Mr Irrelevant before and we didn't win the Super Bowl the prior season. I think Ben McAdo (current TE coach) was the pick.

Nope, I'm wrong.

We did win the Super Bowl, it was in 1997 we had Mr Irrelevant.

Well the Chiefs had Mr Irrelavant and it was their current kicker Mr Sucupp or however you spell it.

Now about the lottery it would maybe help some teams. If teams are tied the draft order is done by a coin flip, so if it was a lottery they would both have the same amount of balls in the mixer
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Sometimes socialism is a good thing. A lottery system would suck. Plus the NBA system doesn't include all of the teams, iirc. I think it's just there to prevent teams from throwing a bunch of their games to pick 1st if a stud is in the draft.

I don't mind picking 32. We took Jordy early in the 2nd, and all we need this time around is someone of that caliber, at whatever position.

It is going to be a long wait. I don't mind. That way the networks will not be cutting away to commercial on the GB pick like they do so many other times.. They will wait until after the round is over.
