Out of curiosity I got on some UK network and the BBC story of the game. Found it under bookmarks at the top of the screen, under latest news.

The story combined both the Packers and Steelers wins, in about 10 paragraphs. Funny read. Did you know that BJ Raji weighs 24 stones? I wonder what the size of the stones are, because if you used 24 stones from my yard, you would need a 100 ton crane to lift them.

So, you UK fans.....what does one stone weigh in US weight, and where did this come from? And do these stones Roll??? LOL

A stone is 14 pounds. So if he weighs 24 stone (the plural here is stone, not stones, by the way), he weighs 24 x 14 = 336 pounds.

lol ya I was watching the game last nite with my irish gf (we live in london) and I told her our 340 pound defense guy just INTed a pass and took it in for a TD - she looked up how many stones that is etc and told me. She seemed to be impressed by how many.

I think its liek 14 stones per pound or something; I personally dont get this stone thing sounds like a wierd measurement.

Stone is a standard measurement in the imperial system. We used to use it here in the United States too.

How is 14 pounds to a stone any stranger than 16 ounces to a pound or 8 ounces to a cup or 2000 pounds to a ton or 12 inches to a foot or 3 feet to a yard or 4 quarts to a gallon or 128 ounces to a gallon?

The imperial system makes no sense. It's just what we've grown up with so we're used to it.
