I don't post much, just too busy to be on the internet. But a few of you know I have Packer season tickets. In 2007 I was selected in the Packers lottery to receive a pair of tickets to the Superbowl. All we had to do was beat the lowly #6 seed. Everything was booked and the bags were packed. You know how that story ended.
To be that close to seeing the Packers in the Superbowl only to have the dream yanked away, it was disheartening. Trust me, it's not often you come up in the lottery, and when you do, the Packers don't even make the playoffs or are far from being ready for prime time. In other words, it could be decades before the Packers get to the Superbowl and you are picked in the lottery.
I was selected again this year. You don't think much about it, being a #6 seed and having to go to Atlanta, well, you send in the check anyway and hope.
But... dream come true! OMG! The Packers have my check and will probably slam it in the bank on Monday. On Thursday the Superbowl tickets are scheduled to be on my doorstep.
I've been saving up frequent flyer miles for a trip to Japan or some other exotic location but cashed them in so Brother and I can get into Dallas without having to pay for the outrageous airfare for that weekend.
Hotels are nuts but I got one for $500 total over four nights. Best part is it's near the airport and about 13 miles from the stadium. In other words, we won't need to rent a car and those are running $500 for the weekend.
Tickets, hotel, and airfare (yes, there are fees with frequent flyer miles) end up costing us about $1100 each. Food and taxis will be extra.
OK, I rambled enough; I know this is kind of All-About-Me but I had to tell the story.
Cheesey, wanna key chain souvenir from Dallas? OMG! I'm going to the Superbowl! 🙂
