I was screaming at the TV for the amount of times they were punting to Hester, and I still think that was a mistake, but credit to the coverage team who did an incredible job of getting down the field.

Also Masthay had another incredible game with I believe two punts of over 55 yards, and darn near had one at the 1 with Bush nearly downing the ball.

I think Masthay punted 59 yards into the wind on one of those punts... We need to keep this man.

A) he had one go for 65
B) Bush got hosed on that one
C) Masthay has been huge for us this season

Tremendous performance.

give credit to Bush, who not only downed a couple of punts (came close to downing three) but also was one of the first players to get to Hester when he caught it.

Tremendous punting and punt coverage tonight. Men came to play!

One of the reasons we lost in 07 vs NY was because Jon Ryan couldn't pin the Giants back in their territory. Mathshay was HUGE today. Looks like we finally have our punter.

Not enough has been said about Bush's performance either. He's been one hell of a STer for this team this year, and played admirably again today.

Like you said kingkoopa, a punter is often only noticed if they mess up e.g. vs. the Giants. Masthay deserves some major credit for some of his performances this year (Jets, today).

The special teams got it done. That was huge.

I initially thought Bush got hosed on that touchback, but on the replay, it looked like he was still airborne when he touched the ball. He needed to reestablish himself with both feet in front of the goal line. I don't think he even touched down with one foot before he touched the ball.

ST was huge today. If there was one player on the bears who could have tied the game in an instant and got them back into it quickly it was devin hester and we kept him in check today.

I have really been impressed with punt coverage in the playoffs. Especially Bush. I am glad the coaches did not listen to the fams and cut him back in preseason.

This aspect of the team played the best today. The defense dominated but let up late, but the ST outperforming theirs -- which was expected to be their biggest advantage -- turned out to be the difference maker.

Bush, I've always been a fan of despite the majority of the Packer community wanting him cut, has his role on this team. Defensively he obviously has his faults, but you need special teams players like this to perform well.
