Yes, 4PackGirl...Gotta love HS football.

True Cheesey, Was bad and now good. I hope we win it all too. It will be very tough but at least took the first step and won our division.

Just found out 3 days ago my new boss is the father of a rivals QB. I didn't want to bring up my son sacked his son 2 times when we faced them. Not a good career move.

What you SHOULD have done is this:
After the game was over, walk up to your boss and say "My son sacked your son twice. He could have got him 5 more times, but i told my boy to go easy on him."

Fortunatly we faced his sons team earlier in the season before he was my boss. I don't think he remembers that my son sacked his. His sons team has lost every game but 1 this season so I'm guessing he has been sacked a number of times.

Maybe I'll revisit this thread next season for ideas on what to do or say when we face them again. I hope I hit the lottery between now and then.

Well the season is over. We got knocked out of the playoffs in the first game. Final score 17 - 21. The guys played hard but we had an injury
to our star running back and he wasn't able to play. My son was playing a great first half and was a major contributer in stopping the run. First play of the second half he went in as Full back and was lead blocker on a run up the middle. After the play he remained on the ground for a while. He was knocked unconcious and sufferred a mild concussion. He didn't go back in the rest of the game. The other team took advantage of his back up and started successfully running it up the middle. It was close but our guys couldn't hold on.

It was a hard fought game and we came up short. It has been a great season full of suprises. My son is fine and will take the rest of the weekend off just resting.

Thanks to all for the nice comments and the funnies throughout this thread.

Glad he even played this season. Had a good time and a good year.
Sorry for his season to end so quickly.
I am pleased that the coach was smart enuf to keep him out of the game after teh concussion. My younger brother played most of a game with a concussion. Since he rarely came out of the game (even for special teams) the coaches didn't know until the 2nd half. 25 years later he still doesn't remember much of the game.

Zero2Cool (1-Apr) : uh oh
Martha Careful (1-Apr) : Too bad camera's can't spot the ball as well.
Mucky Tundra (1-Apr) : So will the chain gang be gone completely or will they still be around as a backup or whatever?
Zero2Cool (1-Apr) : The method for measuring first downs in the NFL will switch from chain gangs to camera-based technology in 2025, the league announced.
Martha Careful (1-Apr) : A big step in the right direction. Just put in the college system is very very good.
