My family is of the same attitude. The problem is that I'm not sure we control our own destiny anymore. We are going to need some help. Go Vikings... I just puked.

We are in the same position we are last week with the Bears loss. We can't get 2 games behind them though.

We now lose the tie breakers with the Bears if we end up tied with them, where before we would have won the tie breakers (assuming we beat the Bears in the last game to tie things up--otherwise, we'd have lost the tie breaker anyway for head-to-head).

So, unless we win 2 more games than the Bears (with 3 games remaining), we're playing for a wild card berth. We can't catch Atl (they're 11-2, and we'd lose the head-to-head), NO is 10-3, we're unlikely to catch them, which leaves the 8-4 Giants or the 9-4 Eagles.

The absolute, absolute worst part about the game yesterday is that it's going to make me root for the Vi...the Vi...the Vi...excuse me, I've got to go wash my brain out with alcohol.

And it's not just this week. Next week we will be sticking up for the Vikings against the Bears. And the week after that, they play the Eagles, so we may be sticking up for them for the third week in a row. We might as well go out and buy our purple gear right now.

I have to +1 Pack93z.

This thread is reflective of some pretty good creative writing skills. :)

Some others in the fine tradition--

Hiroshima Times:

"Nuclear blast lowers heating bills this month."

"dfosterf" wrote:

Well, arguably it could have been written that "Nuclear blast saves million lives."

And if so, would have increased the revenues for heating companies. :)

I'd give Shawn a +1, but I think I've already given him two today. 🙂

Looking on the bright side, I'm sure the Vikings gear is selling for cheap these days.

The initial post in this thread may be the post of the year. McCarthy did go to a more balanced attack after the Lions game, and after the Rodgers-less loss to the Patriots, they ran the table all the way to an NFC championship. My mistake in this thread was I thought that 10-6 wouldn't get it done. But things broke the right way with some other games and 10-6 was good enough to get into the playoffs.

Also, the team solidified. The bulk of the injuries occurred in the first half of the season, and they were able to work the new guys into the lineup and develop team chemistry on the fly. The running game was the last thing to fall into place, with James Starks' emergence in the playoff game at Philly.

beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
