Here are the four possible scenarios for the Vikings over the next two weeks:
1. Beat the Bears and Packers: 5-5 and one game behind the Packers (6-4).
2. Lose to the Bears, beat the Packers: 4-6 and two games behind the Packers (6-4).
3. Beat the Bears, lose to the Packers: 4-6 and three games behind the Packers (7-3), plus down 2-0 in head-to-head matchups.
4. Lose to the Bears and the Packers: 3-7 and four games behind the Packers (7-3), plus down 2-0 in head-to-head matchups.
In the first scenario, the Vikings are right back in the thick of it. In the fourth scenario, their season is virtually over. The good news is that #2 and #3 are both pretty good scenarios for the Packers. The Bears are in the mix too, but I still think it will be Packers vs. Vikings to decide the division.
The Packers will be coming off a bye. This will be their big chance to deal the Vikings a death blow, or at least take a three and a half game lead on them. They already send Wade Phillips packing. Maybe now it'll be Chilly's turn!
