Wow, you're absolutely right. I forgot to put the word "knee" in there. Thanks for pointing that out, and I apologize for the spat, as you put it. 🙂

Veteran CB Harris expected to be cut by Packers

By Steve Wyche | NFL.com

[img_r]http://static.nfl.com/static/content/public/image/getty/headshot/H/A/R/HAR337785.jpg[/img_r]Longtime Green Bay Packers cornerback Al Harris is expected to be waived Monday afternoon, a league source confirmed.

Harris, 35, spent the first six weeks of the season on the physically unable to perform list while recovering from major knee surgery. He was medically cleared to play but the emergence of his replacement, Tramon Williams, left him without a starting job. The development of rookie nickel back Sam Shields also made him expendable.

Several teams, including NFC North rival Minnesota, could use help at cornerback, so Harris likely won't be out of work for long.

If Harris is not claimed off waivers, he would become a free agent.

Harris, a two-time Pro Bowler, has amassed 21 interceptions in his 12-year career.

Yet another of the pre-Thompson holdovers leaves the fold. Ted Thompson is clearly doing this just to ensure his stamp is on the team, right, dhazer?

The question now, is that if Shields follows trend and goes down, what are we left with? Jarrett Bush and Brandon Underwood. Both are still a little green IMO. Thats the only thing that really makes me nervous about dropping Harris. It is hard for me to believe that Harris wouldn't do a better job, even if he is behind Shields, than Bush and Underwood. I hope I'm wrong, because there is a lot of season left. Hopefully the next two weeks are good to Pat Lee.

This sucks. And it sucks even more that I can see both sides of it. If the Packers are getting rid of Harris so he can play this year it's classy and I respect the decsision a lot. But still, I love Al Harris and will miss him. Much love #31

I think Thompson's stamp is that, although decimated by injury, this team still contends. They did not bend over like the $2 whores the Cowboy players are.
