With Starks does he actually have to be injured to be put on IR or is one of the rules of the PUP list that any player on it can be placed on IR irrespective of their actual injury status?

My guess it is the latter.

"Zero2Cool" wrote:

If he's not injured and the Packers put him on IR, he can dispute it and get released pending a physical that he passes. I think something similar happened this year with Will Blackmon (who'll return kicks for the Giants today).

Blackmon didn't dispute it. Blackmon was put on the short-term IR which when healthy the players has to be released after an injury settlement.

RB DeShawn Wynn was put on the IR and tired to disputed it... all he got was pissed off coaches telling him to shut his mouth...

It happens every single year in the NFL by different teams... a healthy player gets IRed. The IR player could take a dispute to legal paperwork but lets just say that looks bad to teams... a player who isn't willing to keep his mouth shut when a team tells him too... it's like a red flag to teams... you better have flashy talent like a Randy Moss if that happens.

I'm not saying I like it... that's just the way it is...

Ahh, I see. I didn't know they had classifications for IR.

Honestly I didn't ether until the Shawne Merriman thing...

lots of people were saying he was on the IR and would be a FA in a couple of weeks... which didn't make sense to me as most IR players stay on the team and are done for the year. But Merriman was on short term IR (or that's what people say) and they're forced to release him as soon as he passes a physical)...

Also I'm kind of guessing Blackmon was just put on that...

And the NFL seems to have classifications for everything... and lots of loop holes.

Looks like Bigby's activated for the game.

Saw that. Great news. :thumbright:

We could use DB depth right now. I don't care if he doesn't touch the field. I just want to know we have depth.

Be surprised if he did. They'll ease him back with a pitch count like they did with Barnett last year.

Zero2Cool (27-Dec) : Hail Mary stop away from 5 - 2. Not sure how that flips to tanking. Crazy mindset if true
beast (27-Dec) : I've quietly questioned if Bears are tanking on purpose... they suddenly got a lot worse with some simple concepts like 101 clock management

Mucky Tundra (27-Dec) : The Seattle Seahawks defeat the Chicago Bears 6-3. Jason Myers had 6 RBIs for Seattle while Cairo Santos had 3 RBI for Chicago
beast (27-Dec) : Not nessarily, he might of been injured either way. He's playing about 50% of the games the last 4 years
Zero2Cool (26-Dec) : If they'd been more patient with him, he'd be back already. Putting him out there vs Bears caused him to tweak it and here we are.

Martha Careful (24-Dec) : I hope all of you have a Merry Christmas!
Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Oh I know about Jacobs, I just couldn't pass up an opportunity to mimic Zero lol
buckeyepackfan (24-Dec) : Jacobs was just sat down, Watson re-injured that knee that kept him out 1 game earlier
buckeyepackfan (24-Dec) : I needed .14 that's. .14 points for the whole 4th quarter to win and go to the SB. Lol
Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Jacobs gonna be OK???
Zero2Cool (24-Dec) : Watson gonna be OK???
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : Inactives tonight for the Pack: Alexander- knee Bullard - ankle Williams - quad Walker -ankle Monk Heath
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : No Jaire, but hopefully the front 7 destroys the line of scrimmage & forces Rattler into a few passes to McKinney.
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : minny could be #1 seed and the Lions #5 seed
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : We'd have same Division and Conference records. Strength of schedule we edge them
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I just checked. What tie breaker?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes its possible but unlikely. If we do get the 5th, we face the NFCS winner
