I got curious about how Marshawn Lynch has done since joining the Seahawks, so I looked it up. Here's the damage:

Car 50 Yds 140 Avg 2.8 TDs 1

That doesn't mean Lynch would have such low numbers for the Packers, of course. Maybe the Seahawks have bad run blocking. But then again maybe they don't. Here are the numbers for their other RB, Justin Forsett, who is not exactly a household name:

Car 75 Yds 334 Avg. 4.4 TDs 1

Maybe we're not missing out on much. The one time I saw Lynch play this season was against the Packers, and he looked pretty mediocre in that game, so this is no big surprise. He had already fallen to their third string RB by that point, but they gave him a lot of carries so they could use him as trade bait.

I think he would still be an upgrade over Jackson at this point, all things considered. Perhaps defenses don't see Forsett as much of a threat when he's in the backfield as opposed to when Lynch is? I don't really get to see Seattle play, so I wouldn't have the slightest clue. I'm sure he's still trying to learn the playbook as well.

Lynch, strictly as a player, was never worth the pick. Although adding him probably would have done the offense a world of good and preserving the team's aspirations for a SB this year was certainly worth the pick IMO.

Okay, I'm not trying to troll you, but seriously -- this post makes NO SENSE WHATSOEVER.

Lynch "strictly as a player" was not worth the pick, but his presence would secure the team's Super Bowl aspirations and do the offense a "world of good" ... [brain shuts off]
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

Yes you are! ::wink:

He would not be worth the pick with Grant back in the lineup. However, without a Grant and ligament running game, Lynch is worth the pick because, his addition keeps SB aspirations a live. (realistically)

Basically I'm saying I was, and still am, in favor of the trade, although I realize, strictly as a talent, he isn't worth a pick that high.

Of course, he would be trying to learn the playbook with the Packers as well, and if opposing defenses are able to hold him to 2.8 yards per carry because they see him as a threat, well, that's still 2.8 yards per carry, which is absolutely awful.

It would sure be nice to have a RB who can actually CATCH the ball. Besides the one on PUP right now. But why give up a third for someone you're only gonna give like 8 carries a game?

At the time I was pretty upset with the decision to pass on Lynch but as time has gone by I've gotten over it. He wouldn't have been the answer to our problems on offense, thank god Ted Thompson is the GM and not me.

What is not to like about these stats?

Brandon Jackson.

Carries: 95

Yards: 418

Average: 4.4

TD: 2

Receptions: 21

Yards: 167

Average : 8

And the more he plays the better he is likely to get.

You're not making any sense. Brandon Jackson is an excellent recieving RB.
