I don't know if it's just me but it seems like this year they are calling less penalties like holding and PI. I don't know the actual numbers or anything it's just my observation. If that is indeed the case though IMO it's for the better and the players will just have to get used to not seeing the kinds of flags that they have in the past.

I'm not sure if I've seen any other games like that, but it does seem like the refs may be allowing a little more contact and throwing fewer flags for phantom pass interference penalties.
