From Jason Wilde Tweet

Pack averaging 3.2 penalties for 26 yards in wins and 11.3 for 53.3 in losses.

So what has MM been saying or doing different

I don't know but I was pleased to see so few penalties. You'd think our offense would then be productive.

Maturing players and perhaps a knack of accountability finally in practices. Thought I read McCarthy pulls people if the commit penalties and gets on them. Also, if you look at the penalties, a majority of then are on veterans I bet.

BUMP

Packers have had only 8 total penalties in the last 4 games. I was worried that playing in the noisy Metrodome may have a similar effect as the atmosphere in Chicago did earlier this season. They only committed one penalty yesterday.

We've discussed that fixing the penalty issue is a big part of righting the ship for Green Bay. To that end, special teams have been good (not great, but good).

Let's hope the hostile Georgia Dome isn't too big a stage this next week.
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

I echo the concerns about a dome, evad04. From what I could tell (watching the game at a bar, albeit a quiet one) the crowd noise was rarely a concern.

Atlanta should be a bigger test from the crowd noise standpoint. Fortunately for the Packers, aside from Miami, Atlanta has some of the most fickle fair-weather fans in sports, so hopefully a fast start could nulify that variable.

I've only been to the Atlanta airport, but I have heard the reason for this is nobody is really from Atlanta. Atlanta gets a lot of outsiders from all over the country who retain their old sports team loyalties. That's what I've heard. I could be wrong. That's how it was in Houston though. Houston didn't have very loyal fans. Thus, the Oilers left.

It would be nice if everyone who isn't from Atlanta, except for Packers fans, left for the Thanksgiving holiday rendering the dome a pro-Packers crowd.

Atlanta definitely has some of the worst fans in sports. They didn't even sell out Braves playoff games in the 90s for god-sakes. For whatever reason though, Atlanta is a juggernaut at home. Matt Ryan is 18-1 there for his career. That is scary good.

Time to make him 18-2, except let's make that 2nd loss be so brutal it feels like 2 losses in one game.

Probably hard to get excited for a playoff game when you are there every single year, lol.
