Why dont we sign a fucking DT/DE i mean i like more LB's but we had to use a Offensive lineman for a DT in the viks game we at least needed a DT.

Because magic football player land is closed for the season. I'd rather use 2 DL and five linebackers that can play, than put dog shit on the DL just cause the person weight 320.

The Jets did just waive Howard Green, so that might've been a decent player to claim for a team that has no one left.

But in all honesty, I think people are underestimating how hard we're getting hit at the LB position, as well. Mainly because it just isn't that obvious in the games themselves.

At ILB, we were down to Hawk, Bishop, Chillar, Francois and Simpkins. I don't know what Chillar's status is right now, but I do know that, with young guys Bishop and Francois and Chillar not completely healthy, it's a good thing to add a veteran like Wilhelm. Which we did.

At OLB, with Jones now out, as well, we're down to Matthews and Zombo. That's it. We really had no other choice but to get two OLBs from somewhere.

Packers Claim NT Green Off Waivers, Place LB Jones On Injured Reserve

The Green Bay Packers have claimed NT Howard Green off waivers from the N.Y. Jets and placed LB Brad Jones on injured reserve. The transactions were announced Wednesday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.

Green, a 6-foot-2, 340-pound sixth-year player out of Louisiana State, has played in 51 career games with 12 starts. He entered the NFL as a sixth-round draft choice (190th overall) by Houston in 2002, and went on to play in one game for Baltimore in 2002, 18 games with New Orleans from 2003-04, 18 games with Seattle from 2007-08, and 14 games with the Jets over the past two years, including two contests this season. All 12 of Greens career starts came with New Orleans in 2004. He will wear No. 95.

Jones sustained a shoulder injury this past Sunday vs. Minnesota. He had played in six games with five starts this season.

you may well be good. but you missed when you listed Simpkins as being on the team. ::razz:

Lol. We were down to those 5. Then we started signing and cutting. So in essence, the statement is correct.

So I'm still good in my book.

And I should stop hanging with NSD and ZS. They're too big of a confidence boosting duo.

Heh. You're one of the last people I worry about having a big head. Although the Packers can use a bright young kid like you. I should give Ted a call. First I'll PM Raider Pride for Ted's cell phone number.

Nice! We got ourselves a big fat guy up front on our Dline ...

Hoping for pickett and jenkins to come back healthy and we got ourselves a Dline (well as good as we could hope for that is ...).

dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
