Tramon has done an outstanding job, and with this being Harris' 13th season, who goes to #3 for the season (assuming Harris is healthy enough to play full-time)?

Tramon has had an INT in each of the last 2 games.
Tramon had 8 tackles last week, 7 of those being solo tackles.
Tramon defends 1.3 passes per game this year.

Last year Harris averaged 3.4 tackles per game, with 2.9 being solo.
Harris had 2 INT in his 10 games last year.
Harris defended 5 passes in 10 games, averaging .5 per game.

Discuss.

Tramon starts, Harris plays nickel. They'll give him a pitch count too, like last year when Barnett was coming off the knee injury. Him and Bigby will only get so many plays per game. By the end of the year, they'll be full time.

I think they will be full-time and I think they will deserve it, but do you think that Tramon stays #2? I don't see any reason, if he keeps up his high level of game play, for him to be demoted. My brother and I were talking and he thinks that maybe we'll have Woodson play corner, but move to nickel during that package so that he can roam around like he loves to do. This will give Harris a lot of experience and time at the corner, where he knows what he is doing, instead of throwing him into the nickel position. I think Woodson would excel by playing both corner and nickel, he is the definition of a "Ball-Hawk".

I was thinking of moving him to safety, but he is not fast enough plus he don't like to hit people. Could we see Woody move to safety?
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I think they will stick with Tramon as a starter. That will most likely be the default, and things will stay that way unless Harris begins to obviously outplay him, which seems unlikely given Al's injury and his age.

I don't think the stats you mentioned mean much at all. Number of tackles is often a negative for a CB, because it means he is giving up receptions, then having to make the tackle. A high number of passes defended can mean that the CB is weak and is being targeted often. Interceptions is definitely a positive stat, but the sample size is so small that it often is misleading.

To get really good stats on CBs you have to dig deeper to see how many catches and yards they are giving up. I think the teams keep those stats, so they may not be available. Of course, those stats have their limitations as well, but they are probably the best we can do. One reason I'm writing all this is because I think Al Harris's value to the team has never been captured very well by stats.

There's no competition. Tramon is playing like one of the best cover corners in the league this year.

It's closer between Harris and Woodson IMO.

We could definitely see that. We also don't know what injuries will occur between now and then.
I don't see why Harris couldn't play safety if the need should arise either. He does like to hit. The rap on him is that he doesn't get alot of INTs. Not that he doesn't like to hit.

I highly doubt Harris takes back a starting role with Woody and Williams. Lets first see him in action.

I hope to God Harris doesn't take the starting job. Williams' performance this year has vastly exceeded Harris' in either of the past two years. Stick to what works, not what's sexy.

Packers fans pine way too damn much for their favorite players.

He would be one of the skinniest safeties in the league. Also, this seems like an especially bad position for him to play right after coming back from a shredded knee. Way too much contact.
