Sorry to put another negative on an already negative day and season, but Dan Carpenter is a former Montana Grizzly that I got to know a few years ago when he was a senior and I helped his new holder in getting the snaps down and the right angle of the ball.

Dan is a great kid, from Helena, MT., and was back this summer to help out at a young kids football camp. I met up with him and we had lunch together, with his parents, Lex Hilliard (Dolphins), and the Titans rookie returner Marc Mariani....both former Grizzlies.

Guess Alumni is thicker than water..............."FOLLOW THE GRIZ OR RUN WITH A BEAR BEHIND."

Well, that's a nice heartwarming story. Unfortunately, I'm not in the mood for nice heartwarming stories right at the moment, especially when they are about the player who just beat us. But whatever.

Not really the time Bob, not really a good time at all.

That is pretty awesome.

Like you said, the negative part is that this is Dolphins related and that everyone seems to lose his mind over here after a loss, but apart from that, it's a pretty cool story.

Bob- I'm currently a student at UM. I wasn't around for Carpenter's years, but I know if Mariani ran back a kick to beat us I'd have some mixed emotions!

Why.. because in the end this is just a game.. and nothing more than a game.

I am the first to say, 99% of the time I am guilty of putting more into it than a game.. no doubt.

That said.. when the sting of a loss or the high of a win wears off.. it is the underbelly stories like this that truly make the game special and worth it all.

It is a way to look beneath the helmet and be happy for a young man that just looked the that pressure filled barrel, from an abstract part of the football landscape and succeeded.

Yes it beat our team.. but it still doesn't mean it isn't a worthy look anyway.

Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : Oren Burks with a clutch pass break up...I will now light myself on fire
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : a run on 2nd down and 17 from McVay? So that's where MLF gets it from!
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : Do or die time for the Rams
TheKanataThrilla (19-Jan) : Kicking field goals are impressive
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : Oh that might be a backbreaker

TheKanataThrilla (19-Jan) : Kicking doesn't make much sense
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : If the Rams score a TD on the upcoming drive, they go for 2, right?

Martha Careful (19-Jan) : does anyone have a thread to a broadcast? I do not have Peacock.
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : Baltimore-Buffalo line has been BAL -1 to -1.5. Gotta be rare that a divisional home team that won 13 games is an underdog at home
Martha Careful (19-Jan) : Ironically, our QB played the best of all 3
beast (19-Jan) : 0-3 NFC North Dominated the Regular season and shutout in the post season
