I'm not trying to be a Mike McCarthy or Ted Thompson apologist, but be honest, with the group of players currently on the roster (and backup OL filling in at DL) what more can be expected of this team? The Dolphins are a borderline playoff team, and I the starting roster for the packers today sure as hell wasn't.

I have to agree with you. Here are the defensive personnel changes since opening day:

Ryan Pickett replaced with C.J. Wilson. Huge loss, especially with Mike Neal out as well.

Clay Matthews replaced with Brady Poppinga and Robert Francois. HUGE LOSS.

Nick Barnett replaced with Desmond Bishop. No loss. If anything, Bishop has been better than Barnett.

Morgan Burnett replaced with Charlie Peprah. Significant loss.

Also, Brandon Chillar has been missed in passing situations.

Now for the offense:

Jermichael Finley replaced with Andrew Quarless. Huge loss.

Ryan Grant replaced with Brandon Jackson. Big loss.

Mark Tauscher replaced with Bryan Bulaga. As bad as Tauscher has been, Bulaga has been worse. Big loss.

Ladies and gentlemen, your 2010 Green Bay Packers! They are an average team right now, and their record reflects that: 3-3.

The fact that we're in this game at all is good news, but it's hard for that to matter at this point. I'm shifting my approach to expecting losses and waiting for next year. All in all our back ups are playing well and adding needed experience to this team. If we can get three key players back, then we can start winning. Until then, it's just going to be close all the time.

I think when we got healthy we will make some significant improvement for are team. And we can win some games.

Thank god no key players were injured today.

Sadly, I'm kind of in the same mode. I did not get nearly as worked up watching this game as I did last week. I figured this game would be close, but as soon as I saw that Clay Matthews was not suited up, I did not expect the Packers to win it. The Packers do need to find a way to win more of these close games, though.

I think our pad level was too high, too.

commented on our pad level in the game chat, and completely agree Cheesy.

Like Greg said, I just feel like this team just doesn't have a shot. Kind of like watching the Brewers this year. You hope for the best, you try to justify that they can be better than they are, but deep down you know it's just not meant to be.

If the PUP guys and Taush can provide meaningful impacts, and Matthews, Pickett, Chillar can come back then my hope will be restored. However, until that point I regretfully admit that I just don't think the squad in it's current state is a playoff caliber team.

You're right Musccy. The fact is, we are destroyed by injuries. Having to put in 2nd and 3rd stringers all over the place. It's hard to win with that crap happening.
Right now, i'm not very positive about the rest of this year. I think the team is at the crossroads. Lose next week, and i can see them spiraling down to the bottom and not coming back.

Personally I think offensively we should be much better. Grant, Finley, Tauchser are hits but survivable. I think McCarthy play calling has Rodgers rushing and pressing which is causing errant throws. Run the ball to slow the pass rush, get out of the shotgun to slow the pass rush. Run more short routes, to slow the pass rush. Personally I don't see any of this from MM.

Defensively, We have just lost to much and the injuries are to wide spread until we get some back.

Not sure how losing Grant is survivable. The guy has been steady as an RB all along and taking pressure of of Rodgers. Now look, Rodgers is always on his back and Sam Gado runs harder then Jackson.

Our pass rush without Matthews is terrible.
