We are heading into a tough stretch of games and hurting badly.

There are players that will have to strap it up tight and get it on. I'm not talking about the Quarless or Peprahs or guys stepping in at this time. Don't get me wrong. These guys need to PLAY WELL.

To get through these games coming up the VETS have to bring it. I'm talking Driver, Jennings, Woodson, Rodgers and really the whole offensive line to set the table for these guys.

I am looking for the O in particular to start playing much better than they have and make it a little easier for this D that is pretty beat up right now. If our offense is a race car it's spent way to much time sputtering and this has to change. With Barnett, Chiller, Burnett, Shields, and, God I hope not Mathews for long, the Offensive Vets on this team need to get it rolling, stay on the field, and, convert some points.

It really starts with the Oline giving Rodgers more time. He gets time and I could be the damn TE out there.

It starts and ends with Rodgers. If we're going to be mentioning him in the same sentence of Drew Brees, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, then he needs to play better, especially in the fourth quarter.

If Rodgers gets rolling, the offense gets rolling.

Defensively, I think Green Bay can be okay as long as they get Clay Matthews back and Ryan Pickett doesn't miss a long stretch period.

In a wide open NFC, anything is possible.

However, the odds are stacked against this team. I could just as easy see them at 3-5 heading into their bye-week, as I could 4-4 or 5-3. In fact, I have a hard time seeing them win either of these upcoming games.

We still have plenty enough depth to win these games.

From Don Banks' Power Rankings:

The Packers never seem to overreact to bad news or bad losses, and I believe that serves them very well in the long run. But sometimes the short term dominates 100 percent of the conversation in the NFL, and that makes it seem like almost panic-button time in Green Bay. But it's not. The Packers will hang in there, get quite a bit healthier in the days ahead, and still win the NFC North. Maybe not as comfortably as I previously presumed, however.

I agree with him. This team has had a lot of bad luck and ups and downs in the first five games of the season. If they can just keep focus on the prize and move forward the ability to win is still there.

Plus who is really pushing us right now? I can hardly believe the Bears will keep up their winning ways. The Lions and Vikings both have one win apiece with the Vikings looking like a huge mess. Let the season play out before you start throwing in the towel.

That's what I'm scared of though. We win the NFC North not because we're better than the others, but because they're worse than we are.

Who cares? From what I've seen of the NFC this season there's no such thing as a better team. It's all over the place. I really don't care how we get into the playoffs (besides cheating ;)) because once we're in it's a clean slate--practically a whole new season. Anything could happen. We just need to get there.

Remember the Sherman years? We got there and got spanked.

I also fear that the AFC team will absolutely destroy the NFC team.

But alas, it's only round 5 (as Pack93z says). A lot can happen. Our O can find its rhythm. Our D has been pretty good. Not elite, but pretty good. We're starting to generate pressure through the middle and if our top players stay healthy, I'm still not ruling out winning it all.

Even amongst the AFC teams, there are elite teams but they're beatable. There is no completely dominant team this year.

We'll see. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best.

I usually don't start betting on football games until week 4 or 5 of the season so I can get a better feel where teams are at. This season however I am not comfortable betting on any games lol. No team in the NFC has showed their true identity. Wait until the good teams start to realize who they are and get their swagger on. Then we'll know if the season is lost or not yet lol.

i know it's been a rough start but feel they will come around d-line will hold their own,the penalties need to be cut down for sure cant give the other team opportunity,o-line let the run game get what it can then start throwing the ball seems to work a little,i still feel we can get to the s.b

TheKanataThrilla (1h) : NFL Network is broadcasting the game tonight, but not in Canada. Not sure why as no local television is showing the game.
beast (21h) : But the Return from IR designations had to be applied by the 53 man cutdown.
beast (21h) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
dfosterf (8-Aug) : Apparently it is too complicated for several to follow your simple instructions, but I digress
dfosterf (8-Aug) : Zero- Did you see what I posted about Voice of Reason and his wife? She posted over at fleaflicker that they are both "In"
Zero2Cool (7-Aug) : Well, not crazy, it makes sense. Crazy I didn't notice/find it earlier
Zero2Cool (7-Aug) : it's crazy how one stored procedure to get data bogged everything down for speed here
