As I've explained before, I just don't find Favre's style entertaining. Then again, watching people self-destruct really isn't my thing. I don't watch sitcoms featuring stupid white men either. I'm much more interested in watching people triumph over odds, not fall prey to bad habits.

NSD - It's like watching a fight where the guy loses but he put his whole heart into it. Still fun to watch.

I'm glad he's still playing. I also hope Aaron doesn't pick up Favre's bad habits, something that he seems to be doing this year.

Although in defense of Aaron, I think anyone behind our joke of an OL is going to do stupid stuff.

Favre's style is like the boxer who telegraphs every swing with a huge roundhouse windup, then goes down in the last round with the haymaker to the jaw everyone saw coming from at least Round 4 or so. He needs to learn how to keep his elbows in and not expose himself every time he jabs.

That guy is exciting to watch, though.. Because any given haymaker could KO the other guy, or leave him open to be KO'd himself.

I am entertained by a show of dominance and superior skill, not a display of recklessness that has an almost equal chance of resulting in failure than success.

I think the 'self destruct' part seems pretty spot on. If I were an expert, rather than just a fellow sufferer, I'd say he has some mental illness issues.

To me it's just another sad story.

And it may be crass and self-absorbed me, but I don't watch the NFL for sad stories.

(I'm not sure there is a sitcom worth watching, whether it has white men or not. They're all stupid, smarmy, sillily profane, or some combination of all three.)
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Anytime a QB throws a pick, he's falling into habits of Brett Favre. Crazy. The guy did throw a few TD's in his career to.

So it's kinda the Phil/ Tiger thing.Myself I find Tiger boring, I'm way more entertained watching what Phil will do next cause it's not predictable.I understand your boxing analogy but that's why boxing took a huge fall when Lenox Lewis was champ. The guy was flawless but as much fun to watch as grass grow. I'll take Tyson any day and I think ratings will usually agree with me. That's why Favre will beat Manning anytime when it comes to fan attention

Yep. How are those two preferences incongruent? Surgical dissection of a defense is not flashy and may well lead to close games.
