Another player we could use on offense as a trick play is Sam Shields. Remember: he used to be a WR.

I'm not saying use him as a receiver. I'm saying use him in a reverse-type play, sort of like the Eagles do with Desean Jackson.

We should try Shields on offense, with his speed run a reverse or do a Devin Hester route from wr 🙂
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I don't like the idea of using Sitton on defense. He's easily the best player we have on the OL. An OL with very little proven depth.

Lots of things can happen underneath a goal line play. How would you all feel if Sitton played on D and ends up hurt?
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

The same way I would fell if he got hurt while playing o line. As long as he's helping our team win, I wouldn't care. It's not like we're putting Aaron Rodgers out there to return punts. Sitton is used to dealing w/ 300 lb beasts trying to hurt him.

Why stop doing something if it works? Personally, I think his risk for injury is much higher while playing on the OL.

He's playing on the OL anyway. That risk isn't going to change. The point is that if you add to his OL load some DL plays you're increasing the total risk.

And, IMO, given the overall quality of the non-Sitton roster on the OL, that just sounds like playing with fire to me. Not as bad as putting him on KO teams, but still an extra risk that makes sense.

Its like saying, well, QB is a bigger risk of injury than LB, so its okay to play Aaron Rodgers a couple reps at ILB in addition to his QB duties.

IMO Sitton is, after Rodgers, arguably the second most important offensive player right now. (in the sense of there being a major problem if he gets hurt).

It is a bit curious why sitton was chosen. I understand that since we run the 3-4 we don't carry alot of linemen, but as was said earlier why sitton? He is the best player on the o-line and the hardest to replace. Let's say we didn't have buluaga but some street FA this year. Then let's also say Clifton was the next best option to play goal line D. Does that sound like a good idea? I don't think so. Why not one of the scrubs? A Havner type?

Sitton is our strongest, most solid O-lineman. I think he was easily the best choice to play in a goal line situation. If you're afraid to play your best players on a goal line stand in a close game, you deserve to lose.

As for the trick play stuff, nobody on the defense really stands out for me as that kind of player. Maybe a reverse to Shields because of his ability to run in the open field, but after watching him struggle to catch punts in the preseason, I honestly don't even have a lot of confidence in his ability to take a handoff.

Trick plays are for inferior teams. I thought it was dumb enough watching our special teams run around like women on that kick return. Lose like men.

Zero2Cool (1h) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (5h) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (5h) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (6h) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (6h) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (6h) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (6h) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (6h) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (6h) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (6h) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (6h) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (6h) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (6h) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (6h) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (6h) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (7h) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (8h) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (8h) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (8h) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.

dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately

Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Van Ness played most of season with broken thumb
wpr (9-Apr) : yay
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Mark Murphy says Steelers likely to protect Packers game. Meaning, no Ireland
Zero2Cool (8-Apr) : Struggling to figure out what text editor options are needed and which are 'nice to have'
Mucky Tundra (8-Apr) : *CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP*
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : WR who said he'd break Xavier Worthy 40 time...and ran slower than you
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Who?
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Texas’ WR Isaiah Bond is scheduled to visit the Bills, Browns, Chiefs, Falcons, Packers and Titans starting next week.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Spotting ball isn't changing, only measuring distance is, Which wasn't the issue.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : The spotting of the ball IS the issue. Not the chain gang.
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Will there be a tracker on the ball or something?
