I can't wait to see what Starks will bring to the table. But adding a Marshawn Lynch or Deangelo Williams would definitely help.

Finally! Something we can agree on.

The line seems to be a big part of the problem too, though. Even if Starks is able to exceed all expectations, he may not end up with a lot to show for it. Marshawn Lynch or Deangelo Williams would be a definite improvement from B-Jack and maybe even Grant next season. I'm praying for another Panther's loss this week!

Not in total defense of Jackson, but has anyone else noticed that a number of his runs come on plays with little or no blocking? In the game against Philly Jackson demonstrated some nice pop and ability to extend plays after the first hit. I just don't think there's been a lot there since Philly. I agree he's a bit tentative, but I've also seen too many instances where he's contacted well behind the line of scrimmage.

Against Buffalo, Jackson missed a couple of cutbacks. That's on him. You need vision in this scheme and he hasn't displayed that. You also need anticipation, which he also hasn't displayed.

Right now, I'd say it's 90% Jackson and 10% the offensive line.

With that said, there should be more opportunities against Detroit.

I agree completely with the point on Jackson, but vision is Grant's absolute weakness and he has done extremely well in this scheme.

I wouldn't necessary call Grant's weakness vision. There's more to it than just running into the butts of your offensive lineman. If anything, he can get a little over anxious. But unlike Jackson, he does see the hole open up.

The one thing about Grant I like is he anticipates whats going to happen. He sees the cutback and most importantly doesn't hesitate. Jackson likes to dance way too much and that can get you benched. Ask Brandon Jacobs.

If Jackson stops thinking and just goes with his instincts, he'll be a better runner. Its just two starts, but if he cant do it against Buffalo and Detroit, he cant do it IMO. That's a big game tomorrow for him. I think McCarthy is going to attempt to be much more balanced offensively too. I suspect he and Kuhn will get their chances.
