Brandon Jacobs will meet with Giants management today and ask to be traded, a source tells Vinny DiTrani of the Bergen Record.
No matter what Jacobs says in the media, he is clearly extremely unhappy playing second fiddle to Ahmad Bradshaw. The Giants would probably be fine with a trade, but it's going to be almost impossible. Jacobs is in the second year of a four-year, $25 million contract that will pay him $4.65 million in 2011 and $4.9 million in 2012. I've always liked how Jacobs runs, and with his trade value being pretty low he would be a guy I'd like to see the Packers take a chance on.

The question is, if he's sharing carries with BJack and Kuhn because he's not that much better than them, is he going to start whining about his carries here too?

He's a big bruiser type of back who tip toes and is afraid contact.

He seems like a guy who might just need a change of scenery. It wasn't long ago he was a back avging 5 yards a carry.

Just watched some video of Jacobs.
Doesn't look like he tippy toes or is afraid of contact to me. Watched him demolish the likes of Urlacher, Woodson and Landry.
He looks like he has good vision and can run for a big man.

I think he would be a good addition for the Packers at the right price, but I don't see it happening.

He's a disease. I'd rather sign up Marshawn Lynch and fill his locker with firearms.

Jacobs was awesome in '07. Has he declined? Maybe he is already wearing down. Not many RBs can keep up that style of play for long. Jerome Bettis is the only one I can think of off the top of my head.

He also had a killer year in 08. I honestly think he just needs a change of scenery. But likely how much would Jacobs cost? A late-round draft pick?
