Man vowed in '74 to keep beard until Vikings triumph

RED WING, Minn. A Red Wing-area farmer hasn't shaved his beard since 1974 and says he won't until the Vikings win a Super Bowl.

Emmett Pearson lives near the town of Welch in southeastern Minnesota. He told the Rochester Post-Bulletin he started growing his beard after the Vikings lost the 1974 Super Bowl to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and doesn't plan to shave it until they win the big game. The team is facing the New Orleans Saints on Sunday for a Super Bowl berth.

The 79-year-old Pearson's now-white beard reaches well down his chest. Three of his five children have never seen his face clean-shaven. He says his wife of 53 years is desperately hoping this is the year the Vikings pull it off, so he can shave it off.

Funny, I just imagined a rabbi dressed in overalls, smelling vaguely of ge-lute-de-fish.

Maybe with a Steve Carell ("Evan Almighty") braid.

and picture one of those tobacco stained fingernails digging into his wax-filled ears, pulling out a huge wad o' wax which he uses to tame his tobacco stained beard...quintuple yuckers!!

And picture him smearing that wax on his concave white-man's ass as he flips aside the braid of tobacco-stained asshair to scratch his varicose-veined buttock. Hextuple yuckers!
