At least keep Driver for another season. He only needs 509 yards to break the Packers records anyway.

this man is producing at a high level no need to let him go etc.

As long as he keeps dropping easy catches I don't see why we shouldn't keep him!!!

Oh.

(Can't wait for the conclusions people come to by me saying this!)

Let's see...

Started 16 games. Caught 70 passes for 1061 yards and a 15.2 average, which is higher than his career average. Scored 6 TDs with a long of 71 yards.

If a WR retires after a season like that (assuming he's healthy), he's an idiot.

Is he? The writer got you guys to do exactly what he wanted you to do -- talk about his article.

In an ideal world, yes. But in reality, the objective of a writer is to sell ads. Thus, often the ones who are so stupid you can't help but read them and get pissed off have longer careers.

I have to say, the Bleacher Report article is written by an idiot.

When referring to less production <80 the last 2 years compared to before with Favre. There is this guy named Jennings. Driver has not dropped off as much as some of the touches have shifted.

As for this year. Why did Driver slow down at the end. basically the same reason. The first half of the season. Teams were putting more emphasis guarding Jennings less to Driver. And guess what. Driver was killing them. So some of the coverage shifted back to Driver and low and behold Jennings starts getting more looks.

I can't see any drop in Driver yet.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

I actually had been disappointed in how many drops he had late in the season. So maybe you have seen some drops :P

But seriously, get rid of Driver? No way. Such a good player and great teammate/person to have on OUR team.

If we get rid of him this offseason I will be beyond pissed.

No way you get rid of such a classy, talented player.

That said, does anyone else think Driver has lost a step? There were a couple of times this season when I saw Driver get run down from behind and times when he was looking behind him while he was running. The guy is still a freak, but this was the first year that I noticed DD's age catching up with him a little.

There is no way I would want to see him leave... not even after next season. He is an important part of the receiving group... a 50% DD is still better then a hell of a lot of WRs in the NFL! But I am starting to prepare myself for when he does leave in the near future, it will be a sad day, as he is one of the original Packers players that was playing when I started seriously following the NFL and the packers.

The only times I saw him get run down from behind were when the other player had more momentum. Driver has never been a burner anyway. It seems like he actually caught more deep balls this year than he has in recent years. His production tailed off at the end of the season, but as has been mentioned already, that might have been more a case of Finley and Jennings getting more open.
