Kamp had a ton of QB hits before his injury. We are undoubtedly a better defense with Kamp pass rushing on the opposite side of Matthews. He may not have performed up to expectations at the beginning of the season but giving a player only half a season to adapt to a completely different position is not very fair. Capers and Greene helped transform him into a 3-4 OLB and I believe it would be wise to keep him around next year instead of drafting an OLB in the first few rounds.

I see another RB ahead of Jackson next year and Green probably will retire, although I wouldn't mind him as our 3rd RB if he's still got it. That would help Grant as Sprowles helps LT and Chester Taylor helps AP.

Our biggest needs - OL, OLB/DE, DT in case we don't have Jolly next year, DB (CB/S would be nice but I'm thinking depth). In the offseason, I'd like to see one or two OTs picked up, an OLB/DE picked up, a DT, and 2 DBs picked up. Other than that, best player available in the draft.

I'm hoping Ted Thompson takes the best player available between those positions in both the draft and free agency. I also hope we resign Collins, T Williams, Ryan Pickett, and Bigby. People get mad at Bigby but he's solid against the run. I think some of our problems back there are more due to being newbies at the scheme.

I'm also hoping Kampy comes back. I believe he can get double digit sacks in the 3-4 scheme if we send him in the majority of the passing downs. I'd like to see him lined up on the line too. Heck, if we have to, put him, Jenkins and Pickett on the line on 3rd down and blitz Matthews. I'd love to see Kampy and Matthews both coming at the opposing QB.

My offseason wish - that Capers finds a way to keep Kampman here and work him into the defense without having him go into coverage. Because he really sucks on coverage.

You would think that a coordinator of Capers' stature could figure this out. Maybe Kamp should gain a bunch of weight so he can play end or nose tackle. I'll be the first to call Hostess on his behalf!

Ultimately, I don't see Kamp sticking around. He can make tons of money as a 4-3 guy, and there's plenty of teams out there willing to pay. Just so long as he doesn't don purple or black and orange or Honolulu Blue (actually, I'd feel really bad for him if this was the case), I'd be happy to see him succeed elsewhere.

My offseason wish list consists of the Patriots tendering Mankins at any level lower than the highest level (1st and 3rd round picks) for some bizarre reason, and GB going after him hardcore.

Anyone look at the free agent crop?

It's weak.

The only player I'd consider is Tyrone Carter or Ryan Clark. Preferably Clark, who could possibly move to SS and start ahead of Atari Bigby. I think Carter could too though.

Beyond that I'm thinking trade and draft.

Needs are

LT
RT
CB
SS
OLB

That's how I look at it in no particular order.

If the Packers feel Al Harris and Pat Lee solve their secondary problems, then I'm willing to see them take a chance with those two.

Trading for Joe Thomas probably is off the radar now that Mike Holmgren is running the show. He knows the value of a great LT. Plus, it'd take two first rounders and I'm not sure Thompson wants to do that.

I'd call San Diego about Shawn Merrimen. He's just getting healthy again and I think he'll explode back on the scene once he's full healthy. He could be dealt this off-season. Probably a second rounder gets him.

I agree that extending players should high on the list. Pickett and Collins are the two I talk too.

I'd stick S above CB in the needs ranking. My rationale is fairly simple: There are bodies with potential at CB on our roster (Lee, Underwood), and I do think Al will be back and good enough to at least hold down the nickle spot well. Our starting SS, Bigby, is unfortunately a liability in this scheme (that's partially exacerbated by the fact that our ILBs are suspect in coverage, but it is what it is) - his big hits are nice but he's always late to the party. Depth at S beyond Bigby and Collins is damn near non-existent, as well. I think there needs to be an upgrade @ S for this D to excel; I do agree that Clark's about the only guy that comes to mind in terms of FA/trade, but there are some kids coming out who might help the team.

I'd be okay with Merrimen if he could be had for a 2nd or lower - I agree that he's probably got some good years left once he's back full strength, and I'm thinking that with his recent foibles in the press he might welcome a little peace and the chance to revive his career on a team with a chance. He's the only guy out there that interests me, though, and I'd almost rather have Kampy stay, if he wants to (I don't think he does, for the record).

Thomas (or almost any quality LT in the league) is a pipe dream - even if you could talk a team into the trade, the price would be ridiculous. You have to hope that guy's somewhere in the upcoming draft class (or it's Lang and you're looking for the RT).

Tengo, I am glad someone agrees with me about Donald Lee. I think the Packers obviously need to make Finley the #1 tight end and if Havner's production this season was a glimpse of what he can do in the future, he can easily have the #2 tight end slot.

As far as 3 fullbacks go, its time to narrow that position down to 2 players and open up a roster spot.

If it comes to the Pack needing another tight end, Tony Scheffler is being dealt from the Broncos. I don't think he would sit well being a #2 though. Finley MUST be #1 because he deserves it and that is a confidence booster for the young guy.

Depends. MM said two years ago that his goal with TEs and FBs was for them to be practically interchangeable. I saw a little bit of it in '09, but still not enough to justify having 3 FBs. If MM is right and we make them practically interchangeable, then I could see having 3 FBs.

Is Joe Thomas a pipe dream? Maybe not as far fetched as it would seem. The Brownies are flush wish draft picks but they will need multible 1st rounders to move up to get Suh and Get another QB
This years first and second and next years first could get ya a player.
Don't be suprised to see Flynn get shopped this year.

Wish list
Top flight LT.
Resigned Taush
Jolly
Pickett
Collins
Attempt trade for Nadi Asamqua sp?
More depth for defensive back field Draft or FA
I am therefor I think.
