Some might recall that I had bitched because a friend of my family claimed herself to be an avid NFL fan, (she's a GD Viking fan/Favre fan for cripes sakes)along with being friends with John Kuhn.

Kuhn gave her and her husband tickets and locker room passes/some sort of access to the Pack Vikes MNF game. I told her (the night that she informed me she was going) that Kuhn had just scored two touchdowns in the previous game, which she was totally unaware of. (Pissed me off some more) I also e-mailed her my "Barney" pic, and asked her to show it to to him.

Last night I got one of the gloves he wore during that game. He thanked me (via her) for being such a great fan, and told me (via her) that the glove was on display, along with some other items he wore, in the Packers Hall of Fame for a week. They gave away some of the other stuff, but this was returned to him. Apparently they do that for players/fans when a player has a stellar week.

My Barney Pic was a huge hit in that locker room, she said. It got handed around with plenty of laughs, and she also told him that I was the one that told her about his two touchdowns.

If you never saw it---

Here's the glove-- If you have never felt an actual NFL glove (I hadn't)--The "shiny/sticky" part is like a very thin neoprene rubber glove that you might wear to protect yourself from chemicals. It is most definitely "sticky", but not sticky-sticky, if you know what I mean...call it "sticky potential when a football hits it" sticky. :thumbleft:

It's not signed or anything, but I do like the story behind it. :thumbleft:

If anyone wants it, I will give it to them...IF

1. I know them from this forum.

2. They already have either a "man-cave" or some other collection, and would in fact promise to include it in their "display" of "stuff".

Pics of existing display will suffice.

(Index finger looks torn or something in pic, but it is not--must be the light)

That is pretty amazing, Dave.

How big are they? He always appears to have relatively small hands on the football field. Maybe one of the reasons why he's not that good a receiver, either.

And you're right, there's a great story behind them. It is a shame that he didn't sign it.

I know. I wish he had signed it.

It has the Reebok on the outside, but it is a "Saranac" brand glove. Anybody that plays baseball or softball has probably heard of them. It is a men's extra large (fits me perfectly, I have big- but not huge hands)

The label says, "Synthetic leather, Nylon spandex, velcro and neoprene."

Another label says, "MEET NFL/NCAA SPECIFICATIONS."

Edit-- I found a story about the Packer HOF and his display, etc.

Nice gesture dfoster and nice story.

As for autographs, I've never really seen the attraction of having a guy scribble something unreadable in black marker on my stuff.

A game worn jersey, now that's cool. But a regular jersey with black scribbles on? No thanks.

dfosterf (25-Jul) : Probably a homer access credential intimidation kinda thing
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Meathead "journalists" skip this, concentrating on operational revenue when convenient. They switch when net revenue is more favorable.

Zero2Cool (23-Jul) : Suppose if locker room is main issue, we sitting pretty
wpr (23-Jul) : I thought so Mucky. In those useless player polls GB always rates high overall. Locker is a part of it.
