Woodson had two interceptions as the Packers finished their season winning four of their last five games, including an interception that he returned for a 45-yard touchdown in Week 17. He ended the season with nine interceptions, tied for the league lead.

Agreed. Shoe-in.

I'd love to know where his individual season performance of 2009 ranks all time - it would probably be a hazy compilation because sometimes stats may not tell the full story (See Atari Bigby)

I bet it's top tier, top five.

I wouldn't say he is a shoe in seeing there is actually a better CB playing yet. But with Woodson playing many positions should help him, but its hard to not look at what Revis has done to all the top wrs this year. Look at these stats

WEEK 1 Vs TEXANS (Andre Johnson)

4 Receptions - 35 Yards - 0 TD's

=====

WEEK 2 Vs PATRIOTS (Randy Moss)

4 Receptions - 29 Yards - 0 TD's

=====

WEEK 4 Vs SAINTS (Marques Colston)

2 Receptions - 33 Yards - 0 TD's

=====

WEEK 6 Vs BILLS (Terrell Owens)

3 Receptions - 13 Yards - 0 TD's

=====

WEEK 11 Vs PATRIOTS (Randy Moss)

5 Receptions - 34 Yards - 1 TD

=====

WEEK 12 Vs PANTHERS (Steve Smith)

1 Reception - 4 Yards - 0 TD's

=====

WEEK 13 Vs BILLS (Terrell Owens)

3 Receptions - 31 Yards - 0 TD's

Week 15 Vs Falcons (White)

4 Receptions - 33 Yards - 0 TD's

Week 16 Vs Colts (Wayne)

3 Receptions 33 Yards - 0 TD's

Weeks 17 Vs Bengals (Ocho)

0 Receptions

i don't care what anyone says thats very impressive
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Revis is a great CB, arguable the best. But Woodson is a great football player. Doing everything you could possibly ask him to do. Revis essentially has one job. I really think its a hard argument to make that Revis has as much of an all around impact as Woodson does, and isn't that what it is all about?

Think about it this way, Revis is a shut down corner. Nobody would argue that. But you can limit his exposure by throwing away from him. Woodson is the centerpiece of the packer's D. He is everywhere, no matter what you do he's going to get you, you cant simply throw to the other side of the field, because he is everywhere. Woodson has had the best season of his career when every team is game planing specifically for him, trying to find where he is and avoid him.

The season is 4 months long, and 3 of them he was the Defensive player of the month. DPOY is his!

Revis had a good season, but Woodson's body of work had more of an impact and was more complete. Al Harris has put up a season like that in the past, shutting down all of the #1 receivers, and I never once thought that he was even in the running for DPOY. He wasn't.

Two words words can sum up why Revis has little chance of getting DPOY.

Haze, it's not cornerback of the year. It's defensive PLAYER of the year. Tell me Revis has had a better overall year than Woodson - please, I'd love to hear your argument. Where are his sacks? Tackles? Forced fumbles?

If it isn't Woodson, the award's a joke.

He had his chance in 2005.

I agree, though. This just has to be Woodson. Who else made this kind of an impact on a defense like Charles did this year?
