Losing Jenkins was huge, but how do we fix it and move on? Some of you will say throw KGB in at end and go with it, but I'd disagree. I think the solution lies with Johnny Jolly. I say we insert him into Jenkins' roll, wheras he plays DE on run downs and DT on passing downs.

But what needs to be added is a player like Gravy or Ted Washington to play DT in the base defense along with Pickett.

If all we do is insert Michael Montgomery or KGB at DE, I believe we will be with the bottom feeders in run defense this season.

Anybody else have an idea?

Either sign some one on the free agent market to a short term stint, or better yet, pull off a trade for a young up and comer on one of the really bad teams (St. Louis, Kansas City). I like that option better honestly, given Jolly's legal troubles.

I don't think there's any worthwile free agents, and we did already pick up Kenny Pettway. Honestly I think we'll just have to see how it goes for a few games and decide from there whether further changes are required.

I'm waiting for that shoe to drop with Jolly. If we lose him for legal problems, we may have to start pulling people out of the stands to play on the D-line.

I think the Packers are better off with Montgomery than adding a no namer free agent.

I also think they'll get a boost when Harrell gets back. I know he's not a favorite and I agree with most of the problems people have raised about him, but he was a 1st round pick and he does have talent. When he gets back, I expect relatively big things or at least for him to step up.

I read Jolly won't be facing suspension this year and his court dates was reschedule too. Chances are he'd face a suspension in 2009.
