6 Extra points - All right down the middle.
28 yard field goal - Right down the middle.
52 yard field goal - Right down the middle.
Nice to see him make all of these, but even nicer to see some very impressive accuracy in all 8 of these kicks. I'm glad McCarthy showed so much confidence in him, it clearly helped.

More props to Mike for trotting him out there for the 52 yarder. He was "putting his money where his mouth is", so to speak.
It was in some ways a ballsy move, when you think about it. The outcome of the game wasn't in play, but Mason's psyche possibly was...in a two-fold way. Mike McCarthy was making a statement much louder than his possibly "obligatory" pronouncements backing Mason.
Ask yourself what we would be discussing if he missed that one?
Ask yourself what we would be discussing if Mike McCarthy had punted there.
Did Mike McCarthy factor in the "left hashmark" aspect of the try? I have heard it argued that it counts "less", because his problems have seemed to come from the right hashmark. Did Mike McCarthy factor in that Mason seemed to be "grooving" in the previous shots? What about Mason's piss-poor pre-game warm ups that was mentioned here?
My point being that there was a bit more at stake in Mike McCarthy's decision to trust him at that point in time than merely 3 points, plus or minus, and in hindsight we should all be giving Mike props for going the way he did...Because it went the "right way" for the Pack and him, it hardly is worth a mention...
It could have got a bit ugly, again, if you think about it. Small thing, but maybe not.
