agreed. he says

The point here is not to rehash Thompsons long-ago miscalculations, because it happens to every general manager, whether in the draft or free agency.

Really, because it seems like that's exactly what this article is about? What's the point? We have some impending FAs, we'll keep some and we'll lose some. And it's another case where the name of the column doesn't line up with the content. i hate that. Sports journalism is a joke.

Agreed. The title of the article makes absolutely no sense.

I don't understand the purpose of this article. All it does is rehash stuff that has been discussed over and over. It adds nothing new to the discussion. Clearly Vandermause was hitting a deadline and didn't have much material to work with.

As I've said before, there are no journalists on that staff, only columnists.

I agree. It's easy to get on Thompson now for replacing Longwell with a young kicker, but nobody was complaining when Dave Rayner was doing a solid job and Crosby was pretty good for the first year in a half of his career. To me this is kind of weak.

They did replace Darren Sharper with Nick Collins. That's a wash IMO and Collins is younger, so you probably take the younger guy in that deal.

I would like to ask this writer to: Name me the the best GM in the NFL right now.

Name me how many GM's are better than Ted. I want to know the exact number... I want the names, and reasons they are better. I also want to know the GM's who are not as good as Ted, and who is the worse GM in the NFL.

That is an article I would enjoy reading.

Ya know you all can bring some content to discuss here too. There's no penalty for that. I can't do it all. šŸ™‚

Vandermause writes some good columns, but sometimes he just mails one in. Any casual fan with basic writing ability could have written this column with little effort. It's hard to have a good discussion based on a column that is completely lacking in substance.

Losing Longwell was worst then losing Sharper. I loved both but come on Longwell wanted to play in a better climate like Zero said in which I don't think Ted Thompson had much of a choice. Sharper let's all be honest his having his best season since his left the Packers and his on a 13-1 team.
