The versatility that linebacker Brandon Chillar has shown in his first two seasons in Green Bay likely meant he would get some interest from other teams this offseason as an unrestricted free agent, but the sixth-year pro said he wasn't looking to go anywhere else.

That interest was mutual, as Chillar and the Packers agreed on a long-term contract extension earlier this week.

"It has a lot to do with how happy I am here," Chillar said. "I don't need to go searching for anything else out there when I have everything I need here. I'm happy it got done and I'm happy to be here. I like the organization, love the city, so I'm just happy overall that everything went the way it did."

I'm glad that he's happy to be staying in Green Bay. I thought it was interesting that he said he liked the city. That should quiet some of the talk about FA's not wanting to come to Green Bay because of the city.

I like that he is happy in Green Bay.
Woodson says he is also happy in Green Bay. I would hope that these guys would also be happy to go out and sell Green Bay to other players when it comes time to bring in free agents.

Nice to see players take a liking to the city. That is a great thing to have when trying to land free agents. What is there NOT to like about Green Bay.
I think the city is built for the older/more mature players such as Woodson and Chillar. They know their job and their life is to play football and Green Bay offers that.

The 23-26 crowd might have a harder time adjusting to a small town...especially when their teammates from college go to big-city teams.
Has Clay Matthews said anything about being in Green Bay? He just comes to mind since his two teammates are in bigger cities. Maluaga(sp)-Cincy and Cushing- Houston....just curious.

I haven't heard anything from Matthews, but I'm pretty sure he likes Green Bay. The guy just seems like a total football junkie. Green Bay is a great place for him. His dad played in Cleveland, which is not a whole lot warmer or more glamorous than Green Bay.

Clay was on Locker Room Live the other night and seemed to be happy that he ended up on Green Bay.
He seemed like he was into the whole Packer mistique.
Like was said previously he seemed like a football junkie who just wanted to play football.
Said he was going to the Hawks for Christmas.

It's funny because the only reason he came here in the first place was because we offered more money than Arizona. Goes to show that players might change their mind about Green Bay once they been here a while.

"I LIKE the organization, and LOVE the city.

I think he has that backwords... Proiority wise.

dfosterf (18-Aug) : We do have good depth at running back imo. Still so frustrating. Bitching about it is a futile excercise, which I plan to do anyway.

dfosterf (13-Aug) : a lower back injury
dfosterf (13-Aug) : Doubs says he's "fine" after injury scare. Some reported it as z
Mucky Tundra (13-Aug) : With LVN that is; need to see what happens in the next practice
Mucky Tundra (13-Aug) : beast, reading about what happened, it sounded like one of those "two guys collide and are moving slow afterwards" type of deals
beast (12-Aug) : I believe Musgrave has been injured every single season since at least a Sophomore in highschool

beast (8-Aug) : But the Return from IR designations had to be applied by the 53 man cutdown.
beast (8-Aug) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
dfosterf (8-Aug) : Apparently it is too complicated for several to follow your simple instructions, but I digress
