mike mccarthy is garbage. the majority of the recent success is attributable to the d, which comes bac to capers. yeah, mccarthy figured out that a quick hit Offense with some straight ahead running was the way to offset a nonexistant o line, but it took it 2 damn months. and the insane number of penalties... penalties are a sign, in most cases, of either over aggressiveness or LACK OF DICIPLINE. and in our case, its far more of the latter.

conclusion: mccarthy needs to go.

I agree. I'm not sold on McCarthy, but I'm afraid we'd try to promote Capers to HC in that scenario. Capers has a long list of success as a DC, but he hasn't been as good a HC. In Houston he was particularly criticized for being too conservative and predictable on offense. Regardless of who is HC next year, I want Capers around to run this defense.

So, not even a full 12 hours after a win, with some sleep, we still have to do this stuff, this early?

I dislike saying this, but I think there's a lot of Browns, Lions, Raiders and Buccaneers fans that when reading posts like this, think 'stfu you unappreciative prick'.

I, for one, am going to enjoy the victory for another day before being I take my green and gold goggles off and become objective.

i agree. i get this weird feeling that McCarthy just sits on a bench making farting noises with his mouth by puffing out his cheek and blowing air through pursed lips during practices instead of making these asstards accountable for their idiocy.

I agree with Twinkiegorilla.

Maybe after a game he could take the mic at the press conference and promise that his squad will unleash hell the next time they take the field. Maybe he'll put some guys on notice. Then maybe we'll go out and lose to the Raiders -- wait ... the scenario I just described was Mike Tomlin of the Steelers.

The lion's share of the penalty YARDS last night were on pass interference plays. There's already a discussion going on about that. There were bad calls made against both teams in an ugly game. Games like that happen sometimes, but yall make it sound like we're worse off for being the 13 point victors. And say what you will about the awesome play of Capers' defense recently, but it wasn't McCarthy who drew up a missed field goal/turnovers.

If only when the cameras cut to him on the sideline he was more active! Then we'd we Super Bowl champs!

This "fired up on the sideline" criticism is extremely strange. I don't know where it came from. I can't remember ever seeing Belichick or Dungy losing their shit on the sidelines. It's hardly the crucial moment a team goes from good to very good. I used to hate how out of control Holmgren would get in his latter years here in GB. He looked like a red faced walrus hyperventilating, and it happened so often the players probably didn't even blink anymore.

Beware the wrath of a patient man = a very wise phrase. If you lose your shit all the time, people won't care.

While I can still see the warts on this staff and performance of this team.. I guess when you have two units that are ranked highly and they are at the very least masking their issues.. I hold my tongue for the most part.

I will say last night.. for the first real time for an entire game I seen the offensive line working very well together.. you can tell they are really focusing on the reads as an entire group presnap.. if they got bark it out loud so be it.. whatever it takes to ensure that pressure is accounted for an everyone is on the same page.. amazing what a pair of solid tackles do for edge pressure and what proper reads do for an interior of a line.

That is no masking job.. that is straight up making the adjustments.
