I believe Ted Thompson has told MM at the begining of the season that we were not aiming to win anything this year, I think Ted Thompson aims for 2010 or 2011 as the target window to seriously make this team competitive.

This is just based on a hunch feeling of course, my best piece of evidence so far is:

-----------From MM press conference-----------
How much smaller playbook get with Flynn? Haven't operated on high volume all year. Not sure how would change.

Why not use the complete playbook? Rodgers spent 3 years learning so I'm sure he does know the plays so why keep it vanilla?

We are playing vanilla offense and defense with a reduced playbook, we haven't made any push for any FA we are drafting for the future and not based on actual needs. We let Favre go.
Is this enough evidence?

They can't say it but I believe Ted Thompson has 0 interest in how things go this year it just an experiment.

Gosh, Ted is running an experiment, a year long experiment that could get him fired. I wish I had a job like that, heck, I wish I had the guts to carry out a plan of that nature.

I think that with the weak division you can gamble on your experiment not costing you the job, chances are we still win the division and make it to the playoffs. And the experiment continues...

Interesting theory.. but then why if he wasn't planning on being competitive until 2010.. would he not have pulled the trigger on the Browns offer before the Harrell pick?

I think last year's record has everyone (from Thompson on down) thinking we're better than we are. I like Rodgers, but pushing Brett out the door will prove to be Thompson's biggest mistake. We lost so much when we lost him. Other teams don't respect us anymore.

I don't buy it. There's no way Thompson had any idea that Minnesota would stumble, there was every indication that they were going to be as good a team or better than the Packers were, and I just don't see a guy who would like to keep his job in Green Bay just ceding the division.

Injuries have been a serious problem - we've had them in the worst spots possible. This isn't an 'excuse' for anything, it's just how it is. I just don't think Ted is running some sort of experiment - it could be said that it's more important to win this year than any upcoming year, since this year's so closely linked to all the bru-ha-ha that went down over the summer.

And there's no WAY I'm calling it a year four games into the season.

I backspaced over this post several times, but Im just gonna speak my mind here.

Seriously? Conspiracy Theory?

We lost a game to a good opponent. They played poorly. We played worse.

There is nothing else to see here, everyone in the Packers organization is on board for the same goal, to win football games. There is no "hidden timetable".

Were all a little emotional after a loss including me, but this is false.
