I'm not enshrining Aaron Rodgers. I'm pointing out that his output is measurably greater than Ben Roethlisberger's, who has thrown an average of 18 TDs per year during his career. Roethlisberger has won two Super Bowls despite putting out a horrendous performance in the first and a slightly better than mediocre performance in the second. I refuse to be blinded by the jewelry on his hands. He's lucked out. Put him on almost any other team in the league and he would have been as ridiculed as JaMarcus Russell or Eli Manning.

Eli Manning is ridiculed? He won a Super Bowl, with a great defense, but didn't throw a single INT in the playoffs. He had an amazing post season. He had a great season last year, and started this year strong, a top 5 QB until his leg injury, after which his play has significantly dropped. How do you ridicule a top 10 QB who has a super bowl ring?

Eli Manning is ridiculed? He won a Super Bowl,

I figured it would be obvious from the context that I was talking prior to his Super Bowl win. Before those four weeks in which he magically caught lightning, he was universally ridiculed in the media, and New York fans were clamoring for him to be benched. Then he slipped that ring on his finger and suddenly all was well.

But he is regressing back toward the mean, as mediocre quarterbacks will.

I think you're massively avoiding the fact that they we're undefeated until he injured his leg, and had played top 5 QB-like before that. And that he played really well through all of last year. Just because his play has slipped because of an injury doesn't mean he's regressing back to his pre-Super Bowl form.

Guess what point Eli sustained the injury to his leg...

Yeah, like Dallas isn't a great team, and Redskins don't have a top 10 pass defense.
