Schwartz told his team that they were going to place "barbed wire" or something around the tradition by winning that game yesterday.
Obviously it didn't turn out as he had hoped.
I have an idea to get away from the Lions / Cowboys Thanksgiving tradition, without upsetting the sensibilities of the traditionalists too overly much.
The Pack is not part of the "tradition" per se... except it kind of is.
This is the perfect year to change how it's done.
The winner of the Thanksgiving day game will play in next year's Thanksgiving day game...with a compelling opponent slated best as possible:
Example-
Starting with:
Early game: Green Bay vs. Minnesota
Late game: Dallas vs. Philadelphia
No AFC tradition, but going to start one with:
NFL game: Indianapolis vs. New England
