Frost was horrible today. Barely averaging more than 30 yards is unacceptable.

I know why we dropped Jon Ryan, but I don't think he ever had that bad of a average or even a NET average.

Looks like Mike Stock should have chose a different Punter. But I dunno.

I just don't know

Well I don't want to make it seem as I'm saying "I told you so" but I called it before week 1 that it'd take the Packers a few weeks to get their act together.

This team is facing high expectations for the first time, and by that I mean they are getting a lot of national media focus. 4 pre-season games in 18 days? That's crazy, for any team.

Then you throw the Brett Favre fiasco, and that sure as heck didn't help this team focus on football.

The fact is that this team is still a couple of weeks from gelling, they aren't in sync/rhythm. Nothing to worry about.

We lost at the OL and DL, big time.

"Zero2Cool" wrote:

I have to disagree with you big time here Z.

We lost the OL battle today, but our DL was solid. Yes, they should've tackled better, but they needed to get a rush for the most part and they did. Take away Graham's big run at the end and our run game wasn't too bad. At is alright enough to give us the win.

Being that this was the first game these 5 OL starters have played, I expected some rust but they were horrid.

Our play calling is terrible. Stretch run plays? Those won't work until you get them running up the middle first. That's like calling a play action pass when you haven't run the ball.

"Zero2Cool" wrote:

To be honest, I think the fact that we could not get any into any rhythm whatsoever on O made the play calling look worse than it was.

I think for the most part McCarthy was trying to do something/anything to get our O into some semblance of a rhythm, but it just didn't happen tonight.

The fact that this is the second week in a row is what troubles me. McCarthy's gotta put this one on himself and do something to get the O to start clicking.

Ooops, how embarrassing. I was talking about the Packers/Buccaneers game.

When I say the Packers DL failed... I'm talking about not getting enough pressure and allowing them to consistently get third an shorts giving them another first down.

Theres no way you can say the DL did well in that game. I admit, that has me baffled.

I tried my damnest to find plays on defense for the video and guess what, not a helluva lot of options lol but you are entitled to your opinion. I just 100% disagree after watching the game and doing the highlight video.

edit, lmao take away the big run that sealed the game lol okay just like McCarthy says, those runs count too. 😉

Simply because I don't want people to start panicking and worrying that we are worse than we were last year, it's time to panic, etc.

Week 1 wasn't like we dominated. Our O moved the ball was gaining yardage in chunks, not continuously moving the ball. A couple of really big plays got us scores and IMO covered up some inconsistencies in our O moving the chains.

Week 2 was the Lions. 'nuff said.

We can't move the ball, our chop blocks have been effective on occasion, but not consistently creating lanes. The WRs routes aren't quite what they were last year.... I can't explain this properly but it seems our WRs aren't nearly running the same routes with similar effectiveness, and our TE is basically not even looking to go down the field to make plays.

We aren't in sync. The D has done a terrific job keeping us in games, but even they've had problems tackling... which you have to admit is uncharacteristic of this D based on last year.

Regardless of the team played against, you still have to execute. We did just that in the first two games well enough to win.

Well based on what I saw, we got a rush with our front 4 that was decent.

When you ask our D to go out there for the length they have had to for the past two weeks, it's so easy to pick out the fact that they didn't get a good rush every possession.

If you're talking about gap control, with our DTs allowing lanes for the RBs to pick up 6-8 yards on first downs... then I would have to agree with you there. We could've done much better, but I thought it was much improved form the Dallas game. Not fixed, but improved for sure. Keep in mind though, Pickett / Jolly / Cole aren't exactly the ideal three man rotation for out DTs. I maintain Harrell being out there would've fortified our Run D, which sounds stupid considering he's a 2nd year player whose hardly played. I'm sure people will call me out on that.

Regardless, I think the D-Line can't be blamed for this loss. At least I don't think.
