Packers decline to match Bills' offer to Brohm, sign rookie QB Reilly
The Packers have signed QB Mike Reilly to the practice squad.
He's a 6-foot-3 rookie from Central Washington who spent the summer with Pittsburgh, which released him in the final roster cutdown. The Packers worked him out on Sept. 15.
Reilly takes the place of Brian Brohm, who on Wednesday signed a two-year deal with the Buffalo Bills, a source confirmed this morning.
The Packers offered to bring up Brohm to the 53-man roster but didn't match Buffalo's offer, which included a bonus. That might have sealed the decision for Brohm, a former second-round draft pick who surely wanted a fresh start as well after 1 1/2 disappointing years in Green Bay.
To make room for Brohm, the Bills waived No. 3 QB Gibran Hamdan.
