What Nonstop said. Winning games is what it's all about, but it doesn't help when rating QB, usually.
No one wins games in this league except for Manning and Brady, if you ask me. And Brady is still a long shot at this point. They can carry a team without an amazing supporting cast and make it a Super Bowl contender.
Orton is nowhere near that. He played with a defense that was pretty darn good and behind a better O-line than the Bears have now. I mean, just look at it, they could actually open up some holes last year. This year, not so much.
Cutler had been stuck on teams with horrible defenses. His stats might've been a bit inflated, having Shanahan as his HC and some talent around him, but overall, I'd take Cutler over Orton.
Whether the amount of picks they gave up will be justified is to be seen, but they've certainly upgraded the position. It's just a shame that the window had closed already when they got him. Someting DeAngelo didn't see coming, I think.
