Okay I'm really tired so I didn't read all of the above. But Philadelphia, Atlanta, Green Bay and N.Y. Giants are all tied at 5-4 for the 5th spot in the NFC.

According to the link if you had to break it down right now. Then the Packers would be #7 and the first team to miss the playoffs.

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/standings/playoffrace

# Philadelphia earns the No. 5 seed by beating the N.Y. Giants in their division based on head to head (1-0) and winning the tiebreak over Atlanta and Green Bay based on conference record (4-2 over Falcons' 4-3 and Packers' 4-3)
# Atlanta earns the No. 6 seed over Green Bay based on strength of victory (.422 over Packers' .295) after the N.Y. Giants dropped out of tiebreaker based on conference record (3-3 vs. Falcons' 4-3 and Packers' 4-3).

But still those other 3 teams all have to face each other which means 2 of the 3 will have another loss for sure. So it other words if the Packers win the rest of the year than they will be in the playoffs. So it's in their hands.

SF and Detroit are winnable games. If we can be 7-4 heading into our tough December schedule, I think we have a pretty good chance. 10-6 is probably going to be good enough to at least get one of the Wild Card's in the NFC this year. I think the Packers are capable of going 5-2 down the stretch if the offensive line can find a bit more traction like yesterday and the defense continues to gel.

The first tiebreaker between two teams is Head to head win (that seems fair).
Giants eliminate the Eagles with their head to head win.

Dang I feel like a fool!

My spreadsheet was correct but I misread the Eagles and Giants lines.
I gueass I can't read a straight line from right to left.

I've been a real boob arguing an incorrect premise. I apoligize to the whole board and especially to Zero to Cool for my mistake.

I caught it tongiht when going through the updates for the AFC.

Here is a corrected version:

1st Round Bye
1) Saints Record (9-0) > (8-1) vikings
2) vikings Record (8-1) currently > (6-3) Cowboys

Divisional Leaders
3) Cowboys Conference Record (5-2) > (4-2) Cardinals
4) Cardinals Record (6-3) > 49'ers (4-5)

Wild Cards
5) Eagles Conference Record (4-2) > (4-3) Falcons
6) Falcons Strength of Victory .422 > .292 Packers

The Rest in Order:
7) Packers Conference Record (4-3) > (3-3) Giants
8) Giants Record (5-4) > (4-5) 49'ers
9) 49'ers Conference Record (4-2) > (4-4) Panthers
10) Panthers Conference Record (4-4) > (2-4) Bears
11) Bears Record (4-5) > (3-6) Redskins
12) Redskins Strength of Schedule .296 > .259 Seahawks
13) Seahawks Record (3-6) > (1-8) Bucanneers
14) Bucanneers Conference Record (1-5) > (1-6) Rams
15) Rams Conference Record (1-6) > Lions (1-7)
16) Lions

The loss to the Bucanneers is the difference between being top Wild Card and being out of it.

Again my data was good but it was my error in that I could not correctly read what is in front of me. Very shameful as I strive to accurate. I sincerely apologize to the board and those harmed by my mistake in reading the data.

That freaking loss to the Buccaneers! D'oh! I suppose we'll just have to win out through February! :)

No worries, Cheez. I appreciate your time and effort on this very much.

I agree with Zero. No problem Cheez, mistakes happen.

And with that loss, also. We keep hanging with just about the best teams in the league, but drop a must win game which might just keep us out of the play-offs. It's pretty sad.

dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
