Hey, maybe that explains why I never get dates either. The woman thinks, in response to my request, "Well, he's already covered it all, so why bother going out."

No, probably not.

I didn't know they even had women in Iowa.

Do these women know you're sexually interested in them? It's much easier to get a date with a woman if she knows your motivation behind the request. If it's murky, she's likely to feel leery and turn you down.

Which is exactly why the line "Nice shoes, wanna fuck?" works so well.

That's the first time Wade and I got busted for taking a conversation south on this forum.

We used to get busted on (it sure seemed like) EVERY conversation at PC.

Made me laugh and reflect.

lol @ Zero. I've never tried that one -- I just tell 'em I think they're sexy -- but I know a guy who goes to house parties with the opening gambit of "Wanna fuck?" and gets laid plenty.

Hey. At my age and shape, "sexual interest" is a rhetorical concept. Akin to "postmodernism" or "300 game".

(I do notice shoes, though that could be because stilettos are so rare in the state of iowa that I"m mindboggled when a pair actually appears.)

Actually, I've encountered this thing that "asking for date = i want sex" misconception often. Not that I don't want it (i'm middle-aged, not dead), but "asking for date" doesn't mean the same as "picking up."

Guess I'm showing my age in more ways than one.

I can't believe I'm responding in this thread. :pottytrain1:

I think it's funny that there's this idea in our culture that women don't like overweight men. Some of the most successful guys I know are extremely obese.

I've heard plenty of conversations in which women were cooing over guys with big bellies -- I've heard women say they won't date slim men because they're "too pretty." I've heard women say that being with a bigger guy reminds them of the times their father would hold them on their lap.

And of course there's the line from Pulp Fiction: "Pot bellies are sexy."

Amen.

I know what you mean. If I had my way, asking for a date would = I want to find out if you're the kind of person I'd like to have sex with. You can't know just by looking at someone if they'd be a fun lover. But that attitude seems counterproductive in today's society.

A lot of women don't trust a guy when he's saying he just wants a platonic date; believe me, I have lots of experience asking for those, and most women act vaguely creeped out, if not insulted, by the offer. They either assume you want to "friend" your way into their pants or they just don't want to "waste time" with a platonic date, which they figure they can have with their girlfriends whenever they want.

As a buddy of mine says, a gentleman makes himself out to be a selfish cad. Women love those kinds of guys.

And before you say it, 4PackGirl, yes, I know there are exceptions. 😛

Hey Wade, can you get a week off work? Passport available?

Go to Malate, grab a wife we would all be jealous of you having, and be done with it.

Geez, everybody does all this silly hand-wringing and advice column b.s. for such unimportant stuff.

She might say Gleen Bay Pakka, but no woman is perfect.

:thumbleft:

OR

If Asian ladies are not your thing (beyond my imagination, but that is me)

AND

YOU OWN AN INCREDIBLE SET OF STONES...

Will still need a passport, but this is fast and easy... (In one sense, travel time and hassle)

Fly to San Diego. Rent a car. Drive to San Ysidro. Rent a motel room.

Walk over the border into Tijuana, go to the cab stand. Tell the driver you want to go to the pool hall located in the residential neighborhood.

He'll know what you are talking about.

You just hit the motherlode. Every aspiring to be an American latino hottie that knew the best place to go will be there.

One catch.

Every drug cartel honcho in South America doing business in the United States will also be there. They like to shoot pool and gamble in there.

In other words, you want to kind of avoid pissing anybody off in there...It isn't what I'd call dangerous if you don't, but it is most assuredly deadly if you do.

The women are absolutely some of the most beautiful on this planet. 99% of them are very fluent in English. No, these are not prostitutes.

Just a couple ways to cut out all that dating nonsense and cut right to the chase --- We are too old for that bullshit. :thumbleft:

OR

Upon reflection, if you really want to date, you can have MY wife. She used to love to date. Me? Well, let me put it this way...Like I said, I was reflecting. I'm going to San Ysidro!
