ANNOUNCEMENT:

If a team is out of contention for the playoffs, then they can not trade with a team who is in contention .

Disable trading.

I want trading to continue, just with in these limits. But any trade where it is between a team in contention and out of contention, I'm just going to veto it. I'd rather give the announcement so that if someone was thinking of it didn't wonder why I randomly vetoed it.

Was this rule mentioned before the league's season started?

Personally, I think you're out of line. You're playing a cruel game of 'this counts, this one doesn't.'

If I was in that league, I'd be pretty pissed off, unless this rule was disclosed in the very beginning.

It wasn't, but it sounds like a very fair rule to me.

I mean, what's the use of trading for teams that aren't in contention, anyway? All that they can do is give away big name players for way too little because they don't care anymore.

another week another win lol

Have you lost a game yet? You have the ultimate all star team in the Yahoo! league. You got that one wrapped up like four weeks ago! lol

I lost the 1st week in espn league, lost by 2 points fricken mendenhal wasn't starting. Between the 2 leagues i will be 17-1 :P

I guess lucky leprechauns deserves the trophy because he beat me

what i'm trying to figure out is im tied for 1st and beat that team but in playoff seeding they have me as a wildcard wtf kind of setup is that

"dhazer" wrote:

Yup I beat you in week 1 ;)

I also just squeaked out a win over Porky too this week. That's why they call me Lucky Lloyd 😃

What if someone is out and they want to put together a team of their personal favorites? So now because they are out of contention to win, they can't find some fun in the league?

It's what I did in my league. I know I won't be able to beat dhazer so I traded my team away to make a Packers roster. In this league, if I lasted farther, I wouldn't have been able to do that.

It's kind of an obvious rule Z2C, but just so Jarod can have his justice on a league he isn't even is a part of 😛, I'll put a poll up on the main page of the ESPN PHFFL discussing it. I have a feeling though that it's going to go in favor of the ruling.

Well, just because your league is a total fun and laugh, this one will be considered fair for the others trying to actually compete with dhazer (argue, freakin dhazer).

Fair? Are you reading what you're proposing and doing? Fair?

and it's fantasy football, its all meant to be FUN

you're potentially removing fun from someone. But hey that's fair.

Eh, the rule kind of makes sense even though I disagree with it. I don't really care though, this league has kind of handcuffed me from the start:

I only have one QB Matt Cassel and he was out for the first game so I had to start Pat White who has 0 fantasy points this season. I also had to start him my bye week. Now my only TE, by far my best player Owen Daniels is gone for the season and the highest points for TE's in FA is 5 for the whole season. 5 frickin points. So why can't I trade with a team that's out of contention to fill the void I have at TE?

That's TE. Once a TE gets injured, you might be screwed in any league. It's luck of the draw. But who says you can't trade for a TE with a team in contention? I believe, really, every team still is. Or atleast 18/20.

Oh and, there have been a lot of QBs who took over starting that were originally a FA.

Zero2Cool (27m) : I wanna kill new QB's ... blitz the crap out of them.
beast (28m) : Barry seemed to get too conservative against new QBs, Hafley doesn't have that issue
Zero2Cool (1h) : However, we seem to struggle vs new QB's
Zero2Cool (1h) : Should be moot point, cuz Packers should win tonight.
packerfanoutwest (1h) : ok I stand corrected
Zero2Cool (1h) : Ok, yes, you are right. I see that now how they get 7th
Zero2Cool (1h) : 5th - Packers win out, Vikings lose out. Maybe?
beast (1h) : Saying no to the 6th lock.
beast (1h) : No, with the Commanders beating the Eagles, Packers could have a good chance of 6th or 7th unless the win out
Zero2Cool (1h) : I think if Packers win, they are locked 6th with chance for 5th.
beast (1h) : But it doesn't matter, as the Packers win surely win one of their remaining games
beast (1h) : This is not complex, just someone doesn't want to believe reality
beast (1h) : We already have told you... if Packers lose all their games (they won't, but if they did), and Buccaneers and Falcons win all theirs
Zero2Cool (1h) : I posted it in that Packers and 1 seed thread
Zero2Cool (1h) : I literally just said it.
packerfanoutwest (1h) : show us a scenario where Pack don't get in? bet you can't
Zero2Cool (1h) : Falcons, Buccaneers would need to win final two games.
Zero2Cool (1h) : Yes, if they win one of three, they are lock. If they lose out, they can be eliminated.
packerfanoutwest (2h) : as I just said,,gtheyh are in no matter what
Zero2Cool (2h) : Packers should get in. I just hope it's not 7th seed. Feels dirty.
packerfanoutwest (2h) : If packers lose out, no matter what, they are in
packerfanoutwest (2h) : both teams can not male the playoffs....falcon hold the tie breaker
packerfanoutwest (2h) : if bucs win out they win their division
beast (2h) : Fine, Buccaneers and Falcons can get ahead of us
packerfanoutwest (2h) : falcons are already ahead of us
beast (2h) : Packers will get in
beast (2h) : If Packers lose the rest of their games and Falcons win the rest of theirs, they could pass us... but not gonna happen
packerfanoutwest (2h) : they still are in the playoffs
packerfanoutwest (2h) : If Packers lose the remaining games,,,,at 10-7
Zero2Cool (4h) : We can say it. We don't play.
Mucky Tundra (5h) : But to say they are in is looking past the Saints
Mucky Tundra (5h) : That said, their odds are very favorable with a >99% chance of making the playoffs entering this week's games
Mucky Tundra (5h) : Packers are not in and have not clinched a playoff spot.
buckeyepackfan (6h) : Packers are in, they need to keep winning to improve their seed#.
Mucky Tundra (15h) : Getting help would have been nice, but helping ourselves should always be the plan
beast (15h) : Too bad Seahawks couldn't beat Vikings
bboystyle (15h) : We just need to win Monday night and were in
Mucky Tundra (19h) : Or ties, but let's be real here
Mucky Tundra (19h) : Other scenario was Falcons+Rams losses
Mucky Tundra (19h) : Needed a Falcons loss for a Seahawk loss to clinch
buckeyepackfan (19h) : Am I wring in saying if Tge Vikings beat The Seahawks, The Packers clinch?
Mucky Tundra (21-Dec) : Agreed; you stinks
Zero2Cool (21-Dec) : I'm not beating anyone. I stinks.
Mucky Tundra (21-Dec) : rough injury for tank dell. guy can't catch abreak
beast (21-Dec) : So far the college playoffs have sucked... One team absolutely dominates the other
beast (21-Dec) : Well even if you weren't positive towards a guy, you wouldn't nessarily want to tell the media that (if they don't know about it)
Martha Careful (21-Dec) : I think MLF want Love to look past the end half issues, and feel good about his play. Our coaches generally keep a very positive tone.
beast (21-Dec) : I think a great running game will do that for most QBs
packerfanoutwest (21-Dec) : Coach Matt LaFleur has said quarterback Jordan Love is playing the best football of his career.
beast (21-Dec) : Oh, that's how you keep beating buckeye, with cheating
