According to Greg Bedard, Jason Spitz was placed on IR today. They promoted WR Biron Ealy from practice squad.

Our first starter to suffer a season-ending injury. At least we have one of our better backups at this position.

Spitz IMO is out best Lineman. This really sucks I was hoping for him to come back. At least Wells is competent so that's a plus.

Bad news. But Maybe this lets us re-sign him to a cheaper deal in the offseason and we can keep hold of another player we would otherwise lose.

Spitz will be back next year. The year will be uncapped and Spitz will be a restricted free agent. GB will tender him and nobody will sign him to an offer sheet mostly due to compensation, but I'm sure this doesn't help.

Wells as the starting center is not something I'm crazy about. He's all the Pack have right now, but I feel like Spitz was a better player.

I know this is tough. Lower back injuries are scary, and this could very well carry over to next year.

However, the Packers have not been hit too hard with injuries. It could have been worse.

Look at the Colts.
