OK Guys Boo all you want I will be with you but if you encite other people to boo at someone because of your own hatred of that person, that is like a lynch mob.

I am NOT diagreeing with the booing, just the POLITICAL motivation of the people who illicit other people to boo to serve their own cause.

I don't think it has anything to do with personal "hate" for anyone. At least not for me. I don't "hate" any football player because football isn't THAT personally significant for me at all, even though I'm a huge fan.

However, I definitely dislike certain players and think it's all part of the experience to get worked up a little. I mean, have you been to many college football games? Talk about getting worked up. It's fun! Part of the experience. Boo if you choose during the game, and after it's over, go have beers with fans of the opposing team and have fun.

However, if it is a little personal for W. Henderson, I can kind of understand. He has played and gave a lot to this organization, just as Favre has. If anything is personal it wouldn't be that out of line for him since this was his career. I feel players are justified a little bit for taking things personally (whether it was meant that way or not). However, if too many fans start taking things personally, I think it's a little crazy.

All I want is for his white jersey to be full of Lambeau grass stains and maybe some of his own blood. I don't want him injured, but I do want him sitting in a hut tub until Thursday November 5th.

I would boo him because I feel he took extraordinary steps to get himself to Minnesota, which I view as a betrayal to the Packers.

That's a great idea!! I say yes. Boo the heck out of him BECAUSE HE'S A VIKING! Make them feel un-welcomed. Let all opposing teams know that Lambeau field is a reasonably hostile place (in terms of the 12th man only) and try to get in their head.

So yeah, I would be down for enticing some booing for Tarvaris Jackson, or any other Viking. I'm not a big booer myself, but if something as simple as booing can get inside an opponents head a little, then sure.

I generally cheer for Tarvaris Jackson.

'06 - he was great against us. :thumbright:
Too bad he only played us once that year.
10 20 50.0% 50 0 1 35.4

'07 - he didn't play against us that year. :(
Didn't matter because we swept them anyways. :pottytrain2:

'08 - Unfortunately, we only faced him once.
16 35 45.7% 178 1 1 59.0

And of course in '09, we won't see him.

Seriously. I think we've evolved as a society beyond the primitive lynch mobs of our sometimes ugly American history, where groups of torch and rope wielding people would gather together to boo someone they disliked.

I would've gone the Hitler comparison, personally. He was the best at inciting a group of people to round up another people out of hatred, cluster them in booing camps, and really lay into them with the boos. And that's really what Henderson is talking about here. Turning Lambeau Field into one giant nazi booing camp.

I know what you mean.

I am all for a little jostling between two good rivalries. Somewhere along the line. Personally, I was a BIG fan of ANTHING Packers especially Brett Favre/Reggie White.

However, some people just don't want to admit that that era is gone and though Favre is no longer playing for us, he wants to close out his career his way... Personally, I think the one who has made peace with the fact that he is gone and the Packers are still here will be saying good riddance and getting on with rooting for the Packers.

How many of these fans would not want to exit out of their illustrious careers their own way?

I will boo the heck out of EVERY good play the Vikings make not just Favre.

If a Packer fan roots for ill tidings on Favre, that's his perrogative. However if he is trying to incite me to feel the same way, I would be unobliging and just as opinionated and vehement as I am here.

Rivalries are great yes but is this a Packers vs Vikings rivalry or a packers vs Favre rivalry?

I thought this country fought a war 150 years ago over freedom of choice for all.

This is off topic I guess, but the American War of Independence was fought between 234 and 226 years ago (1775-1783). We did fight the Pig War against Britain 150 years ago (1859), but I don't think you were referencing a dispute between the boundary between the U.S. and British North America.

Anyway, yeah, it's a free country but that gives us the right to protest the government, petition for redress of grievances, maintain freedom of the press, etc. Even if the War of Independence can be said to have something to do with Favre's freedom to go to the hated Vikings, it gives the same freedom for fans to boo the man. Not that they should. It's not very classy and I'm surprised Henderson would boo him.

I can't speak to what the Pig War has to do with any of this.

I think we are talking about the Civil War and from my recollection of high school, which is sketchy at best (get bent 93Z), but that war was fought over states rights, not freedom of choice. I think it's Wisconsin's state right to boo the shit out of their fallen hero.

The more this gets discussed, the more convinced I become that Detlev would have been able to semi-retire on the income generated from this single football game. If he could have got someone in (China?) to make him about 60,000 of those "Ted on a stick" masks, PTI-style-- sell 'em at the gates...

I figure 5 bucks a pop...

He would have had to get interviewed and/or a news article about a week ago, it would have only taken one article/interview. I'm sure by now it would have gone national in the press.

Product unit cost would have been low, comparative to a t-shirt, probably about a dime each or something, then put a bunch of high-schoolers on commission or something...
