Like many people, Aaron Rodgers is unsure about what reaction Brett Favre will get from Packers fans when he returns to Lambeau Field on Sunday.

Rodgers was interviewed this afternoon by Fox's Jay Glazer on "The After Party" on Foxsports.com.

"I know one thing for sure," Rodgers said. "(Packers fans) are going to cheer the Packers on very loudly. I'm not sure what reception they are going to give him. I'm sure it will be a mixed bag of emotions. But I know one thing. They will be cheering very loud for the green and gold."

Glazer joked that Rodgers should make an appearance at the Brett Favre Steakhouse on Sunday before the game. Glazer said he would pick up Rodgers' tab.

"Wow," Rodgers said. "Actually, I have been there I think twice in my life."

Glazer asked Rodgers if he planned to take in the "somewhat Super Bowl-like atmosphere" or "do whatever (he) can" to take the same approach in pre-game.

"I'm going to stay with my pre-game ritual," Rodgers said. "We went up to Minnesota and it was like a playoff atmosphere. The crowd was electric. They had everybody on the sideline. It was crowded. People were yelling at you, screaming at you. There was an electricity in the air, but that didn't change the way I warmed up or focused and prepared that week. I'm just going to do the exact same thing I did. Other than the eight sacks, I think it worked pretty well a couple of weeks ago. [Chuckles] Protection-wise I have to get the ball out of my hand a little quicker and protect (against) that crazy hillbilly off the left side."

Rodgers was referring to defensive end Jared Allen, whom Rodgers said he got to know a little bit in the off-season in Las Vegas.

I wouldn't doubt it that Rodgers and Allen become 'friends' off the field.. Or at least aquaintences.

Rodgers comment on Allen was hilarious. Because it's damn true.

This is would be interesting.

During half time... While the fans are lined up for beer, all of the networks are in half time programs, the Packers, Vikings, and Brett are in the locker room.

Mark Murphy walk out to center field, grab a microphone and announces that the Packers have Retired Brett's Number 4.

Then drop the curtin revealing #4 on the ring of fame.

Then Mark just walks off the field.

Could you imagine the look on Brett's face when he came out from the locker room.? The press going nuts?

That would be great theatre.

Or that he announces that they have cut Kapinons, signed some other punter and that he will wear number 4. Don't know why he would do that at halftime, but hey.

+1 for your scenario, btw.

With how often Allen is laying on top of Rodgers, they might become even more than friends.

Allen sounds like a decent guy when you get to know him. He's pretty funny, although a tad bit arrogant. I could see him and Rodgers being good friends. As horrible as that may seem to some fans, I imagine.

indifference is the answer and when he took the field he will be a QB who plays against GB...so booooohhhh him as any other opponent player...

he don't deserve nothing right now...neither to be booooohed

I don't know if I would stand silently or boo, but I know I wouldn't cheer if I was going to the game. I'm glad I don't have to make the decision. It will be fun to watch, whatever the fans do.

I didn't say cheer.. just not booing him. No the don't announce them normally, but I think the stadium folks will do something.

We shall see...

I took "his proper due" as cheering.

If the house announcers do anything special for him, it's a downright shame if my opinion is wondered upon.

Nothing special should be done for him, nothing. No special treatment of any kind. Treat him for exactly who he is, the opposing teams QB. Nothing more, nothing less. I don't think we did anything for Tim Harris, Edgar Bennett, Darren Sharper, Ryan Longwell or anyone else who came back, why do something now?

Vikings QB had a plethora of special treatment while in GB. Once retired, then he can have those special treatments from Packers fans again.

With comments like yours i hope he never shows up in GB to have his jersey retired and i hope he wears a purple jersey to canton.

You act like it would be some huge disrespect to not have a pre game celebration for the QB of the opposite team we are playing. Do you not realize how absurd that sounds?

"pack93z" wrote:

Of course he does. He also realizes that some folks'll get all riled up about it, which of course is all he really wants. That's his act.

Brett should be treated like any visiting QB, period. The only people who disagree are busy lining up to get on their knees @ his glory hole.

That would be a proper way to respond IMO.. cheer the hell out of Arod.. you know that still is the center of Favre's paranoia and ego issues that pushed him out..

Doubt that.. check out Brittany's thread  in the NFL section.. they still believe wholeheartedly that Arod being drafted was a push on Brett's back to exit.. not really what it was.. preparing for when that exit came.

How did you feel seeing your fathers press conference when he retired from the Green Bay Packers. Did you think it was going to be that hard for him to do? I knew it was going to be hard because what a lot of people didnt realize at the time was that there was a lot of pressure for him to do so. People deny it, but drafting a quarterback isnt exactly welcoming for a veteran. He was being worked out of the picture and he knew that. That year he brought the packers to the NFC championship game that came down to the wire. It was emotional for him because he knew he wasnt ready to retire. He was right about the fact that he didnt have much to give, because he was tired of feeling like the organization was waiting to pull the plug. It was a tough time, even before he retired. Im so happy he came out of that situation without ever losing his character.

dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
