Oh by the way, my dog is still walking around with this sad expression today. It is as if he is saying, "what smells so bad? It is even on my tongue." This coming from a guy who heads for the garbage can or the compost pile every time we go outside.

Back in 1988 we lived in Pembine Wisconsin. Pretty much out in the woods. We had this dang skunk that was taking up residence in the metal tube under the driveway entrance. It was right in the middle of summer. I did NOT want my dog tangling with it. So one day i went out with my .22, waited for him to stick his head out, and BAM! Sent him to his reward. My buddy Mark was standing about 10 feer in front of me......all of the sudden he turns and starts running, right past me. I got out "What are you...." and the SMELL hit me! Mr. Skunk left us a "parting gift!" Oh man....it was HORRIBLE! GAGGING horrible! I ended up walking over to the gulley, armed with a black plastic bag. I grabbed the skunk by the tail and into the bag he went. Took him out to the woods, and dumped the body.

When I lived in my old house, I had a crawlspace underneath, no basement. skunks, stray cats were underneath. Skunks used to spray underneath and it would come up through the furnace vents and I would have to open windows for days.

I know that they like to get underneath the houses or porches and that it is tough to get them out. I really feel sorry for you.

I dont live there anymore. I am in an apartment now. No skunks. Just squirrels.

Come to think of it, we do seem to be a few squirrels short here. I know at least one that went to that great "Nut Factory" in the sky last week when it tangled with a garbage truck.

So Packerchick, would you kindly check those squirrels for me. Ours have a maroon and silver tag on the left ear (Montana grizzly colors) which reads;
"I belong to Montana Bob. I am probably lost and can't find my way back to Lolo, Montana. Please call this number and let Bob know that I'm ok."

Thanks for your help. :thumbright:
