... that make me wonder about Mike McCarthy and staff..

* On Clifton's presnap penalties: "He was cheating the line of scrimmage" on the illegal formations. "You can't have four presnap penalties." Has been out awhile.
First.. why give him some wiggle room on these.. Chad has been playing the game for better than 15 years.. he knows how to line up and when to react on a snap count. Two weeks isn't going to make him forget about it. Hold him accountable for them.. not build in a public excuse for them... okay I get it, your not one that rips players, but to give him a excuse.. come on man.
Second, after the first call, wouldn't you think that maybe the officials are going to call it.. I know that it is called differently by different crews, but once they throw the flag.. you know that they are looking for it.
And Finally, don't you think there maybe was a reason that he was cheating of the line.. from home I could see he was favoring the inside leg.. which is going to prohibit how fast and deep he can drop.. this and the Cleveland game might be prime areas to give Lang some experience.
BTW..
* WR Jordy Nelson (knee sprain) may miss a couple of weeks. LT Chad Clifton (ankle sprain) not as bad as original injury, according to trainers. DL B.J. Raji (ankle sprain) might be a little limited this week in practice; same injury.
* Don't think Clifton will practice Wednesday. If can go at end of week, will have a chance to play on Sunday at Cleveland. Would go with rookie T.J. Lang if Clifton isn't available. Thought Lang was fundamentally sound in relief on Sunday.
