They're 6 - 0. Luck has nothing to do with it. They are the better team. The better team won.

Did you watch the game? The Ravens absolutely had their way on offense with the Vikes on all of their last possessions. They scored in 1:13 to get it to 27-17. Minnesota gets a FG after the Ravens have an awesome defensive stand in the red zone to make it 30-17. The Ravens score a few minutes later after a big play by Ray Rice to make it 30-24. The Vikes get the ball and get dominated by Ray Lewis and the D for a three and out and the Vikings have to punt from their end zone. Ravens get the ball at the Vikings 35 yard-line and on the first play Ray Rice runs into the end zone making it 31-30 Ravens. The Vikings get the ball and are looking like they might get stopped when Favre heaves a ball into one-on-one coverage against Frank Walker who gets beat and the Vikings are already in the FG range. They run the clock and then get the FG to take the lead 34-31. Flacco gets the ball at the 20 with no timeouts and 1:58 left. He makes phenomenal throws to lead his team to a 44-yard FG with 3 seconds on the clock. Than the kicker misses. Now the Vikings clearly were getting beat in the final quarter of the game but two big, considerably lucky plays (63 yard Favre all or nothing bomb and a missed FG) aided them in winning the game. I think they deserved to get beat and I don't think the better team prevailed in this game.

Man you are such a hater, lol. "considerably lucky plays (63 yard Favre all or nothing bomb). LOL. You call running around, avoiding the defenders, then throwing it 50 yards down the field in the hands of the receiver who has one on one coverage (and was pass intereference) "considerably lucky". I don't get it. Can you please explain that? Is that mean every time a QB throws into the hands of a WR in one on one coverage a "considerably lucky play". Your whole thing was that Favre could not do it against a good team and he did, stop the Haterade.

But man that game p's me off. Such garbage. I cannot believe that he missed that FG. Would Stover have missed it? Can't blame him too much because it was a long one but I don't know but UGH. 5-1 and we're 3-2 and we're playing the Browns and their playing the Steelers on the road. Then it could be 5-2, 4-3 with them coming into our house. UGH. I wouldn't call it luck because I think they were the better team but it hurts. It would have deflated them to no end to lose that game.

On a positive note I think Chili eventually makes them lose. He played Marty Ball. 63 yarder Rice reception, 3 straight conservative plays, FG. 60 yard run by Peterson, 3 straight conservative plays, FG. 60 yard Rice reception, 3 straight conservative plays, FG.

I've said the Vikings are a good team but I think they're just creating really high expectations for themselves. I think they're possibly setting themselves up for a disastrous end of the season. I don't think the Vikings are a bad team, they've proven they're good just by going 6-0. However, the two games they won against legitimate opponents have required last second reversals in fortune. Literally the game ended on the last play and both times it went in their favor, against the 49ers the Favre threw 35 yard pass with 8 seconds left into double coverage that the receiver caught and barely stayed in bounds on. Against the Ravens they had to count on a kicker missing a 44 yard field goal in a dome. If both those plays go the other way the Vikings are 4-2. A good team? Yes, sure I've never said they were bad. I just don't believe in the hype surrounding them and I think they're ultimately setting themselves up for heartbreak at the end of the season. They have proven they can beat good teams, but a playoff matchup against the Saints, Falcons or Giants? They literally haven't played a team with a dominating offense yet.

Also about the 63 yard heave. Yes I believe any time a ball gets thrown deep into single coverage it's a bit lucky when the receiver comes down with it. It's not like that's a high percentage play...

Hey Dj, the other thing that closed because I guess we cannot discuss Favre in the Favre forum.

I agree with you that the chances of Favre fading are there. He's 40 years old and age is what it is. But all I was saying was that to this point, he's done what was expected of him and I wish badly that it was Jackson in there instead of him because he is giving them confidence and putting up very good numbers. But for our sakes, hopefully he fades and shows his age sooner or later.

Overall, the Vikings are good but they are very beatable. Flacco put up 384 yards on them today. Ray Rice ran all over htem in the 2nd half. And Winfield may be injured. Just that game hurts because 5-1 and us being 3-2, sounds so much better than 6-0 and us being 3-2. I think the better team won but still it hurts.

I think the Saints v. Vikings at a neutral field, the Saints win, the Vikings are not the best in the NFL, let alone the NFC.

I'm not trying to take away from what the Vikings have I just think they're vastly overrated. All of their big games (GB, SF and BAL) have been in the dome and their other games (CLE, DET, STL) have been on the road. The next two games for them @Steelers and @Packers will really show if this team has put it together or not. I'll say it again too, I'm not trying to take away from what they have accomplish, I'm just merely pointing out that there's still a good reason for concern if you're a fan of this team.

I STILL say it was lucky. A 44 yard FG INDOORS. No wind, a good snap and hold.
The Vikings got lucky.
That doesn't mean i think they suck. They look better then they have in MANY years. They just lucked out today is all i'm saying.
The Ravens kicker pulled a "Viking".

Thats ok though.......just gives the Queens farther to fall when they do! :thumbright:

This random display of alleged Packers fans pulling for the Vikings is ... pathetic. Get off this site - you're a disgrace to the Packers and the true fans.

Edit, or just admit you're a Vikings fan. Stop playing both sides of the fence, you losers!

We spend all day bitching about our penalties and our offensive line and how our win was horrible and what not. Then when someone points out that the Vikings got away with one with Baltimore's kicker missing a 44 yard field goal in doors they get labeled haters. I guarantee each and everyone of us would be saying how lucky we were if that were the Packers in the Vikings place. The Vikings took a game in which they had a 17 point lead with 10 minutes to go and gift wrapped it for Baltimore to take, only for the Ravens to stamp it "return to sender." That is about as big of a meltdown as you can see in the final 10 minutes of a game and in spite of how good they played the other 50 minutes and how good they are, they were lucky to win today.
