I don't see it anymore, why not? Wouldn't that speed up our passing game and slow down the rush (as in no time to get to the QB?)

I'd like to see Rodgers throw these more from under center. Quick hits.

It's still there.

Our tackles run the pattern regularly. Or is that the quick [strike]dive play[/strike] cut block?

After the Bears game Rodgers said that they were specifically taking those plays away. Maybe the Vikings did the same thing. I know in the Cincy game they were using their LBs in coverage the whole time almost due to the amount of pressure they got with the front 4 so I doubt there was much there either.

The simple fact is we need the line to give Rodgers more than 2-3 seconds of a pocket vs a 4 man rush or no team will ever pull their extra players off coverage.

Exactly. The way most defenses can beat us is by taking away the short routes because Rodger's regularly has no time to throw the deeper ones. Basically press our receivers to let the pass rush get through our sieve of an OL and put Rodgers under pressure so he can't make the longer throws.

We are running slants, not the short slants that we use to be known for. Our slants now are 7-10 yard passes instead of 3-4 yarders.

It moved to Minnesota!!!!!

Just kidding.
Mike McCarthy has 2 weeks to figure it out. I can't believe every team has enough talent to take away all of The Packers playmakers.

But if a team comes out and continues to try the same ole scheme over and over, it makes it real easy for the opposing defense to take away whatever they want.

What started out a a real promising year is turning into a real nightmare.

Being outcoached evry game is getting old.

Minnesota had something like 5 of the 8 sacks with only 4 down linemen. That means extra players to protect against the short slants.

4 blitzers, I mean to say.

Extra players doesn't normally help against the short slants. They are built with multiple window. The first is 3-4 yards for when the defender is playing off. The second window is about 7-10 yards. Then there is usually another downfield or on a crossing leg of the route.

We have only hit 1 in the first window and that was Finley's TD.

It isn't hard to use them when called. They play off, bam, 3 yard pass. They play tight, hit that second window. They start jumping, then hit the slant and go.

Rodgers did say that Chicago managed to take away their short slant game. If you have linebackers playing inside it's far riskier to make the throw because they can jump the ball or the player and we know how Rodgers likes to avoid interceptions.

Furthermore, I recall a fair few slants thrown in the Vikings game. Not enough though, I'd agree.

beast (8h) : Jerry Jones still hasn't put Jimmy Johnson in the Ring of Honor, but he's in the NFL's Hall of Fame, Jones is petty
