You mean like when Favre went to NY? Montana quit with the Chiefs. If he had gone to the Falcons, Saints or Rams, I don't think that the people would've been that supportive. At least, not at that point. It'd all be forgotten by now, but still.

And I agree, nice article. For Rodgers and Farve, both a win or a loss will be 'good'. For the fans, though, it'd leave a very bitter taste if you lose to 'your' QB. Especially if it's in a rivalry game to begin with.

Honestly i was more upset about the jets thing then this year....this year was more like a meh i dont really care anymore type thing.

I think Montana could have gone to the Packers (let's just say in an alternate universe where Favre got injured in Montana's last years and the Packers needed a replacement) and people would have still loved him.

In the mid-90s, the Packers were the enemy, not the Rams, Falcons, or Saints. The Niners would probably have 7 SBs had it not been for the Packers.

lol no shit. Montana didn't throw management and a former teamate under the bus on national tv like a whiny bitch and flip flop with his retire or not to retire drama. Not to mention that Favre was linked to the Vikings even before he officially unretired and then JOINED the team he was the face of for 16 years, YEARS YEARS. There's really not much comparison with Montana leaving the 49ers and Favre leaving the Packers. At least if you look at the whole damn picture, it's very obvious there's vast differences.

Montana handled his departure in a more professional manner than Favre. ALTHOUGH, it should be noted that the internet/media BOOM was no where near as prevalent as it is now as it was in the mid 90's. I think the media has hurt Favre far more than it has helped him in recent years. As I've said numerous times. The media has an continues to take advantage of Favre's openness.
