Is terrible. I would rather listen to Lou Holtz choke on his own spit for an hour.

Whew, thought someone was going to say how awesome it is. I take a look at some of the so-called "Comedy" and "Dramas" these days and realize how terrible they are. Was sitting at a midas while I was getting my tires replaced, a show called The Closer was on... What terrible, unconvincing acting with characters that seem shallow and without personality. Not to say that all comedies suck (wait, is there a comedy still running that's good? Animated doesn't count.) and all dramas are bland, I'm just saying that it seems as though there's really no fresh, well written shows out there anymore. Damned kids on my lawn.

Cash Cab is reasonably entertaining.

I never found it that funny honestly. Maybe it's because I'm only 19, and never really watched it during the Farley, Murphy "glory years." The skits just fall flat most of the time.

I don't like it either. They started broadcasting it here again about a year ago and I'm pretty sure that they stopped it again already, as well. It was quite horrible. They showed some classics as well. Even with great actors like John Candy and John Belushi it was pretty lame.

Can't think of any non-animated good comedy series running right now. We're always a couple of months behind with TV series, anyway.

If you have Showtime, just watch Dexter....that's all you need.

And you are indeed a young one, xavier, if you think the Farley days are the "glory" years....they were a very close second. The true glory days were the "not ready for primetime players"...Akroyd, Belushi, Chase, Murrey, Radner, Curtain, Newman and Morris. IMHO of course, but then again, I'm just an old fart!

Loved SNL when Farley, Sandler, Fallon, etc were their regulars. Don't watch it now.

Shanna and I like 'Everybody Loves Raymond' and 'Two and a Half Men'. We laugh so hard at 'Raymond' because it's like we are watching our lives in 3rd person, only without the kids. It's hilarious!

As far as current shows.. We are a season behind, but we also love 'Chuck'. Will be getting season 2 via Netflix pretty soon. There isn't really any other comedy/sit-com that we like.

I feel very, very sad for you if you have a marriage like that depicted in Everybody Loves Raymond. I watched a lot of Two and a Half Men this summer while at Fort Devens (didn't have a choice -- it's all people showed) and I wanted to puke half the time. Weak, inept men mated with bitchy, domineering women just isn't fun to me. It's as close to offensive as I find anything.

There's something seriously sick with a culture in which kicking a man in the balls is considered comedy, while touching a woman's boobs is not only considered offensive, it can land you in prison for sexual assault.

The comedy between Ray and Debra of 'Raymond' is what is so funny to us, and what is so much like us. Not how much of a vagina Ray is when it comes to their relationship.

I agree, although not to the passionate extent that you feel. I won't go any further on this topic as to avoid you getting off on your rant again.. 😛

Just to clarify, I'm not condoning grabbing women's boobs. I just think the laws are unjust and inequitable. Physiologically and probably emotionally/psychologically, damaging a man's testicles causes far more harm than almost any form of assault against a woman short of violent rape.

But I agree. I'm off topic. And I'll step off this soap box carefully to avoid reaggravating my damn ankle. 😉
